The extent of the Garland injury could completely turn this season upside down. Hope he is ok. Erin King was on the post game show and said he is up and talking with coaching staff and some of his family is here with him. Hate to see a player with that amount of skill getting involved in a fight, in his defense i think he just had enough and wanted to stand up for himself but there is just too much risk involved. What an embarrassing brand of hockey from the eagles tonight, they came into this game with a chip on their shoulder which strange coming off a win. Amazing how 1 guy can get a team completely off their game, Garland completely dominated this game tonight. They could barely muster up much in terms of offensive chances against what was a very mediocre Wildcats defense tonight. Svechnikovs hit is surely a couple game suspension. Leblancs could be too especially when considering the game situation.

I don't understand why Howell didn't step in, it looked like he was going to intervene but then changed his mind, this should never happen again, if someone is going after your best player and he is Garland stature someone has to intervene, even if you are the third man in every team will soon get the message.

hope garland isn't hurt too bad. it looked like a deliberate attempt to injury on the take down after the fight.

The extent of the Garland injury could completely turn this season upside down. Direction of the season aside, what a shame if the league is robbed of one of its most exciting players for any length of time. All because of a stupid, pointless fight. Completely different type of injury but it certainly brings to mind the McDavid situation last season in the OHL. Anyway I hope for his sake that it's not too serious. He was certainly putting to bed any doubts that he wouldn't be able to put up as many points without Barbashev.

Have to agree with this. I was really hoping someone would jump in. Who really cares about getting third man in at that point anyway.

Garland went after Martineau ... tough to blame Martineau for what happened. Blame the Refs ... they let so much go against CB even though they called a lot. It was Martineau's cross check on Garland's neck while he was down that set Garland off. No call so Garland decided to fight. Bad decision ... but Martineau' had skated away from Garland ... can't blame him unless he yanked off the helmet.

I can't wait to see the fines that come out of this. Rumble had a lot of choice words after the game. Shannon came down behind the Eagles bench after the fight and then pounded on the glass. Irving was yelling something about six more games at the Eagles. What a mess.
Garland is feeling fine for the time being, but will be monitored for a concussion for the next 24 hours.

It's a shame to have seen the Cape Breton Eagles be such Poor Losers that they continuously try to injure Garland. I heard tonight that they are one of the teams that would like to have him in the December trade period. If indeed true, I wouldn't like to join a team that currently wants to end my season early!!!

I think Rumble has to look at himself a bit on this one. By his words they Moncton was playing a "coward team" two days after a 100 PIM game between the same two teams, this game too was obviously dirty and rough and he put Garland out on the PP with a 3 goal lead and less than 5 minutes left. He's pissed that Dumont Is using the Eagles to go after his star when he's the one using Garland to try and embarrass the Eagles. The game was over and that gamble didn't prove to be worth it.

I might think differently if I saw the game, but generally speaking you should put out your top PP guys in that situation in my opinion. A little less time or a lead of 1 more goal then maybe not. It's tough to come back from 3 goals down with 5 minutes to go and you're short-handed for 2 of them, but I'm sure much crazier has happened. Besides, if I was the other team I'd be more embarrassed if my opposition decided to take it easy on me.
