Helping attendance at the Rocket games Editor:
After reading some of the opinions and editorial in regards to attendance at the P.E.I. Rocket games, I would like to add another perspective.
In the last couple of years, I have noticed there are fewer and fewer in-game promotions where they even stopped drawing numbers from the game program for prizes. They did put up replay screens but once the fans got used to them and enjoying them, they took them back down. I realize these things cost money and a lot of these things come from corporate sponsors, but it also costs money for fans to purchase the tickets, concessions, merchandise, etc.
During past training camps, Mr. Savard would mention in this paper that the goal for that season was to make the playoffs or win one or two playoff rounds. After five years, when is this team going to ice a contending team? If the Rocket were to reward their fans with a winning season where they have a chance to go for a championship, that would go a long way in helping attendance and increase interest in this team.www.theguardian.pe.ca/index.cfm?sid=94095&sc=104

Sounds like someone reading this board.. maybe someone posting on this board.. nice to see a counterpoint published in the paper..... hopefully the front office has read it and hasn't scoured the Island phone book to threaten Mr. Ellis

Apparently, Mr E. has since been summoned to the Rocket office for a "friendly chat", and perhaps even an offer he can't refuse. Mr E. would be well advised to tie up his horse in the barn tonight, and double-lock the barn. The plot thickens.
