7 minute PP for the Titan?
That's got to be a joke!!
Doyle's 2nd of the game gives the Rocket a 4-2 lead.
That goal gives 17yr old Doyle 19 on the season.

The only joke tonight was the referreeing... never thought i'd actually want to see Thane Arsenault calling the game.. oh wait there was one other joke... Antoine Tardif's goaltending
Big win for the Rocket tonight.. I believe we jumpfrogged over two teams with those 2 points
and another solid outing for LaFleur
thought Chad Locke should have been a star tonight.. Doyle did score 2 goals but his line was the least effective of the 3 even strength IMO.. Locke set up Galllant for the Rocket first marker (when the team had played terrible up to that shift and he and the rookies were a force everytime they were on the ice.. if coonCome had any hands he would have had 2 goals easily off Locke feeds

i dont see how you can say it was a solid outing for lafleur. he let at least 2 awful goals in, the 1st, and 3rd. maclean, l;ocke ,gallant, paynter, and coon-come all played very weell when they got the ice time i thought.

Titan had 20 shots in the third and were all over us... they scored only one goal.. it was a solid outing for LaFleur
the LaFleur of early season would have been pulled ala Tardif
I can say whatever I want.. it's how i saw the game.. that's what these boards are for

But Locke neither scored nor fought, so no star....silly. Southorn really struggled from the get-go, and the puck clearing in the defensive zone was atrocious, but especially so in the 3rd period. Morrison was not a factor at all tonight. I don't agree that Lafleur had a strong outing - bad 1st goal, bad 3rd goal.....but some good saves in the 3rd period. Fun game to watch, but perhaps an undeserved win for the Rocket.....I'll take it anyway.

Rocket moves into fifth CHARLES REID The Guardian
Welcome to fifth place.
That’s the greeting awaiting the P.E.I. Rocket after a 5-4 win over the Acadie-Bathurst Titan on Thursday at the Civic Centre.
The new position may not seem like much, but P.E.I.’s been mired near the Eastern Division cellar and the overall Quebec Major Junior Hockey League standings for most of the season.
P.E.I. (20-17-1) now has 41 points, one ahead of the Titan and St. John’s.
Sophomore Rocket forward Chris Doyle said it’s well-earned after a new coach in late October (Guy Chouinard), riding out a season-high five-game losing streak and playing spotty hockey until late November.
“We had our ups and downs at first there. I think the team’s coming together now. This is our third win in a row and we’re not planning on stopping anytime soon,” said Doyle, who earned the game’s first star.
Acadie-Bathurst’s Dany Massé began the scoring in the first period. Then Islanders Brad Gallant, Doyle and Geoff Walker countered for the Rocket.
Walker’s goal drove Titan starting goalie Antoine Tardif from the nets for backup Nicolas Champion.
A scrap between Rocket defenceman Danick Malouin and Titan forward Tomas Svoboda gave Acadie-Bathurst a seven-minute power play with 45 seconds left in the first.
Malouin was tagged with a roughing penalty, a five minute major and a game misconduct while Svoboda received nothing, even though he dropped his gloves.
The call brought out the CCC’s boo birds, who stayed hot at intermission and showered a steady flow of abuse on the four on-ice officials as they skated before the second period began.
In the second, the Titan scored 56 seconds into the six-minute man advantage cutting the Rocket lead to 3-2.
But with five minutes remaining on Malouin’s penalty, the Rocket penalty kill stiffened, helped by a Ryan Graham crosschecking penalty.
“I’m not going to say anything about the officiating, but killing off a seven minute penalty (was big). They scored one time. (That’s) pretty good for pretty much playing half the period in five-on-four situations,” said Doyle. “We were moving our feet, playing in the box pretty well. We didn’t let them get their fancy passes through with (Mathieu) Perreault and all those guys.”
Doyle responded 10 minutes later making the score 4-2.
Later, Perreault and Walker swapped goals for a 5-3 mark in a nasty second period featuring big hits on both sides and chirping between players.
Acadie-Bathurst forward Jonathan Laberge scored in the third as the Titan fired 20 shots at P.E.I. goalie Antoine Lafleur, most in the final five minutes.
Lafleur, in his third straight start, moves to 9-13 with Champion drops to 4-3.

It may not have been the best played game but it was very entertaining and the Rocket earned a very big win. And I think we are really starting to see the difference good coaching makes as this team continues to look completely different from the one which started the season.
And I think one of the things that I enjoyed most last night was that the Rocket basically rolled all 4 lines or at least rolled 3 and our 4th got more time than usual and everyone really contributed to this win. Specifically I thought our third line of Gallant-Locke & CoonCome/DesRoches was really effective.
Individually
Doyle played a great game and was very deserving of first star. And not just his goals he was solid on facoffs (10 of 15), showed strong play away from the puck and really was the catalyst for that second line tonight.
I thought Lessard had a really strong game tonight and a tough one. He played a lot of hard mins against some quality forwards and for the most part kept them contained. He took a bad cheapshot from Masse on the corner (ie. The Perrault goal) and you know he was hurting but he came back and helped set up a key goal.
I was really happy to see Main get recognized as a star as I felt he is often one of our best players and last night was no different. Another solid game by Main and regardless of who did or didn’t win the fight it was a quality tilt.
Gervais was also really good overall. His skating is great and his wrist finally doesn’t seem to be bothering him as much. He made some key plays last night and some great rushes but one of the things that stands out the most for me was in the dying seconds when he went down to block a shot and took one in the face, those are the kinds of things you need to do to win. Luckily he was alright but I am sure it still hurt. Just as impressively was how a number of guys immediately went over to check on Gervais/thank him for the play, Great sign of team chemistry.
Locke had a lot of jump in his step last night and he was rewarded with lots of ice time. A few weeks ago he looked like he was just going through the motions, possibly a sign he wanted a change but last night he was working every shift and made things happen.
Gallant also played a strong game and was really involved in the play last night. He had some good chances and finished a nice pass from Locke which he started back in the Rocket zone by picking Perreault’s pocket.
And I really feel bad for Malouin who looked great early in the first period and was only doing exactly what he should have done in sticking up for a dirty play on Walker. I hate getting on referees but I thought that was a horrible call. Svoboda dropped his gloves so either give them both fighting and Malouin an extra 2 or just give Malouin a 2 for roughing since he only got 1 maybe 2 weak punches in and simply wrestled Svoboda to the ground. But to give Bathurst a 7 min powerplay and kick the kid out of the game? That is ridiculous.
Finally with Lafleur he may not have been solid on Masse’s goal or like everyone else gave up on the play during Perreault’s but in the third period when the team needed him he was huge. Lots of shots lots of saves including a cross crease leg save which was the kind of game saver great goalies come up with in clutch moments.
Gelinas has been great and I expect him to start tonight but I would go back with Lafleur on Sunday as he is starting to show signs of that form that made him one of the best goalies in the second half of last season. Hopefully he can keep it going.
Anyway Great win for the Rocket and although they still have a ways to go I am really loving the way this team is playing as a unit and like the way they are progressing as the season goes.

Just found out that MacLean's mouth was stitched up by one of the team doctors and then he came back out latter in the game...didn't damage any teeth though...players should always be wearing mouthguards during play...surprised that no penalty was called with a stick and blood involved...but after that 7min call last night(can't recall ever seeing a call like that)...Main tuned up the guy that sticked Maclean in the mouth though...wouldn't be surprised to see Main wearing a letter next year....

maclean got hit with the puck. was a good win for the rocket, hopefully they come out strong tonight. i have a feeling that bathurst will be a team to be reckoned with in the playoffs. if the new additions gel, and they get any goaltending at all, they will be tough. they are big, fast and skilled. not a good 1st round opponent i dont think.
