Have Clark Aitken and Jonathan Langille ref every game Islanders are notorious for getting on questionable reffing and when it goes from questionable to downright awful.. the morgue explodes... refs drew several standing BOOvations.. and even got serge out of his box and down among the minions after the first... after that despicable seven minute call on Dannick pillows malouin.. never knew a player could get ejected for slapping

Agreed. That crowd was really into the game. Best atmosphere in a while.

I didn't think the call on Malouin was that bad - he tried to get back at a Bathurst player for the hit on Walker, then he mugged him and "fought" him, even though the Bathurst player never fought back...so 7 minutes it is.
But that crowd - NEVER seen a crowd so into a regular-season game at The Morgue as tonight - and it was great!
The crowd applauded the penalty-kills, the hits, the Main fight (of course), and booed the referee and linesmen relentlessly.....people even had themselves convinced that the linesman missed an offside call at the Rocket blue line in the 2nd period, but the puck was still touching the outer edge of the blue line when it was shot back in, good call.
Terrific performance......by the crowd....made my evening.
Entertaining game, but boy, the Rocket just didn't show up for that third period, adn was completely dominated in the last 12 minutes.
Fun, fun night at the rink, and terrific fight by Main in the 2nd frame.
Thought Gallant would go, but he never did.

Damn video feed wasn't working.

It was a horrible call. The Bathurst player should have gotten a misconduct for no tie down, Malouin didn't throw a punch before he dropped his gloves so roughing is out, but the fight was legit. It was a bad call, simple as that.

Main didn't win his fight... but it was still a dandy scrap and he was not beaten decisively by the much larger Tesink... only guy who would drop from bathurst all night
and Score i thought Svoboda dropped his gloves but he definitely didn't throw any punches.. malouin sorta slapped at him twice (think back to Bezeau-Dixon in year two)... I wasn't surprised malouin got the aggressor.. but for him to get 7 mins and a game while svoboda gets nothing for what most refs would call roughing was a joke
hey like i said it got Serge out of his box and down to the glass yelling at the end of the first

Yeah, but wasn't it great to have McDuck come down from his box and verbally abuse the officials near their dressing room - I was on the player's bench side, and everybody was talking about that.
Folks were into the game the likes of which I've NEVER seen at The Morgue - it was almost like the good ol' days, with fans yelling at officials, roundly booing them.......stuff that was previously unheard of around here....in my 23+ seasons of watching Island hockey, anyway.
No houseplants at The Morgue tonight!

Can we get a preview sheep? Of course you'll get a preview, but it'll likely be Saturday's paper, too late for tomorrow, even though Editor Gary is a big fan of mine. ...but please, it's not "sheep", it's "The Count", just like on Sesame Street. And remember, there's always thunder and lightning when I count. But seriously, a game like tonight in an atmosphere like that restores my often-damaged faith in Canadian hockey and in particular, in PEI hockey fans, who were truly "great fans" tonight. It's enuf to make The Count resurrect his season tickets next year.

What's a letter to the editor without mention of canned pop, or Boomer wearing shorts in the winter.
You know we have it darn good around here when these issues get people riled up.
