He has played well the last three games and seems to be getting back into form.
New mask and paintjob, while minor, would also suggest the team is keeping him around.

I hope Lafleur is staying, and I'd love the Rocket to have a 1-2 punch going into the playoffs, but I still think Gélinas is steadier and calmer than Lafleur between the pipes.
Gélinas also handles rebounds much better - technically, he has an edge over Lafleur, IMO.
