Despite the loss the game was very entertaining. Great to see the team keep battling back.
Nice to see Morrison pick up four goals, setting a team record for goals in a game. Congrats.
We had lots of other good things going on. The third and fourth line got more time than usual and did a great job cycling the puck down low and ended up drawing a penalty with a minute or so left on regulation with the game tied. Despite the fact that Morrison's line was the only one on the score sheet the others played well and had their chances.
MacLean DesRoches, Malouin got quite a few shifts. Deighan ended up stapled to the bench after throwing the puck blindly around the boards to set up Gatineau's second goal. He had lots of time and plenty of options to move the puck. Anyway with Rookies you're gonna get these mistakes. Hope he learned something.
Gelinas came in and played great. He made a couple great glove saves to rob the Piques. He seems to be improving stopping the puck up behind the net. I like to see him work on his puck handling a bit and take a closer look where traffic his heading when he chases the puck.
Overall the team worked hard put in a good effort. I hate losing but as long as the team is putting in this kind of effort game in and game out support should start to pick up.

Kirk announced that Morrison set a team record with 4 goals. Did Jimmy Bonneau not have a 4 goal night when he played with the Rocket??
I checked the stats for 03-04 and Bonneau had 4 points in one game, 3 goals and an assist, not 4 goals as I originally thought.

That was a good game tonight as it was close all the way. Where I was sitting, we were joking around saying they be announcing the score as Gatineau 4 & Brett Morrison 4, good showing by him against his former team. One player that I was impressed with from Gatineau was Byron, a quick skater who makes alot happen on the ice.
This one is for Flipper......as far as the record in regards to most goals by the Rocket, perhaps the Rocket can put a section on their website where they keep track of team records like goals, assists, games played, etc. To have a present and a future you need a past and keeping track of that past is one way to recognize former players and their accomplishments with todays fan and also future fans.

Great game today.... despite Gatineau missing so many regulars they still worked hard and full marks for the victory.. Mior was steady and Byron was outstanding.. also very impressed by the Japanese kid... did some research on him and seems he was drafted by CB a few years ago and ended up in Gatineau as a free agent invite... kid had some wheels and set up Byron beautifully twice
For us obviously Morrison was on a mission tonight... really shocked he didnt takje the shot himself for the fifth marker late in regulation
agree also the fourth line played great again.... disagree on MacLean taking Lockes ice tho.. but he can have Desroches
long break between home games now

Disappointed in Mior's "mocking" of the crowd after the shootout, although I'm sure he was very happy to beat his former team.

I wouldn't blame him too much - kids are into disrespecting opponents and fans, because they see the pros do it......in all sports, not just hockey. Great example to set for everyone....sportsmanship is a thing of the past, it seems. Best is the following: "When you win, say little; when you lose, say less".

Perhaps if Fans hadn't booed when he was announced as starter............. Although Mior got a nice hand when it was announced he had tied the Q record for most games played by a goalie.
