Southorn-Gervais Main-Neiderer Malouin-Gomes Deighan
With the selling of Lessard, the Rocket D looks like this now. I personally don't expect to see any more D moved, so this could be the D that they go with the rest of the season.
Three 17yr olds One 16yr old.

All probable returnees next season. Should make for a good back end next year

I'm not sold yet on Malouin being a reliable enough of a defenseman where he is ready for full time regular duty, more comfortable having him platooned in and out.
Next season won't Main and Gervais be 20's, if so, what are the chances of both of them being back? If only one of them is back, perhaps they should decide now who won't be and make a move to get a return for that player, preferably an 18 yr old.
Time will tell if Southorn is ready to be a #1, but he isn't right now. Perhaps if they can add an 18 yr old defenseman, they can spread that time over the rest of the D instead of relying that time on Southorn right now.

Guess it depends on whether latal returns. I see Main Gervais and LaChaine as the 20 yr olds if Latal is gone. Otherwise, one of the 2 20yr old D could be gone

I think there is a chance of Malouin being moved still.. adding Neiderer gives us more flexibility to move one of our 17 y/o D and I see Malouin being that guy
then add Owens to the PP... suddenly the D has 2 19's, 1 18, 2 17's and a 16.. much better age distribution

What about the forwards?
As of now:
Walker-Mo-Lachaine Tousignant-Doyle-Latal Kana-Locke-McKinley Paynter-CoonCome-Gallant MacLean DesRoches
Unsure about those lines.......just something I tossed together.
Should we expect to see some FW's moved?

I would think so yes
some nice depth there actually
I still think if this is the only move we make we're better than we were and much better for next season
If we make another major transaction we can be set up really nicely for the next 2 years

I think that going into next season, our 20's returning will be: Main Gervais Lachaine With the D the Rocket have, they will want to have some experience back there......so they do not need to go out and find a "filler" ala Swit again.

I know you said as of now but I really expect one of Walker or Morrison to get traded so here is what I would go with.
Latal-Lachaine-Walker/Morrison Kana-Tousignant-Doyle McKinley-Locke-Gallant MacLean-CoonCome-Paynter DesRoches
Southorn-Gervais Main-Neiderer Malouin-Gomes Deighan
This way we can see if the Kana-Tousignant-Doyle can develop some chemistry for next season. Also I don’t expect Locke to move to 3rd line centre but IMO with his play the last few games I think he deserves it and would likely contribute the most in that position. And finally our 4th line has played very strong the last few games, especially MacLean, and hopefully the continue to get some good ice time.
On defense I was thinking exactly what Score suggested. And the biggest difference I see is a more balanced distribution of ice time. This way instead of our pairings playing 30 - 25 - 5 they can play something more like 25 - 20 - 15. It may not seem like much but it should make a big difference as Southorn, Gervais & Main will be fresher and less prone to mistakes out of fatigue. This also means that Southorn can quarterback the PP which is a good thing although I would like to see Doyle on the point for his shot. And I don’t think that Neiderer is necessarily our 4th defenseman just that Main would be the best pairing for him. IMO Malouin has been playing some great hockey the last few games and making the most of his added ice time. If he keeps that up I see him as kind of that 4th defensemen getting a little more than Neiderer on the PK or late. As for Gomes I’m not overly familiar with his game so he might pleasantly surprise but either way at least he should help add some depth as a 3rd pairing defenseman.

Walker-Lachaine-Morrison Tousignant-Doyle-Latal Kana-DesRoches-Gallant MacLean-Coon-Come-Paynter
Southorn-Main Gervais-Neiderer Malouin-Gomes

With the addition of Quaile, make for a log jam at the back end.

With the addition of Quaile I would rather have Malouin & Neiderer as our 5th/6th guys than 19 ry old Gomes.
With all due respec to Gomes I would rather see
Southorn-Gervais Main-Neiderer Quaile-Malouin Deighan
And trade or release Gomes.
