How are the 3 stars relevant? There's no prize or money involved? Every home team in the league selects at least one or more of their hometown player(s) and there is never an issue. The Sea Dogs won and played a solid, well coached, road playoff game, that should be all that matters.. Shut up! Seems like you're defending the choices made. I haven't seen anyone argue relevancy. In most games yes, you can find a 'game star' from either team. Not arguing that. My point is that if Phelix Martineau is named first star of that game, then 3 stars shouldn't be named at all, at least in CB. That makes it a mockery. A mockery you seem to support. And if it's so irrelevant to you, why even bother making your comment? It's a playoff game. Nobody cares about the 3 stars at the end. They could have been the worst 3 players for either team and it wouldn't have mattered or had any more effect then if it was the best 3 players. Calling an irrelevant part of a hockey game a mockery is something you can choose to do if you wish but I guarantee you nobody cares about a mockery that had no victim with nothing gained from it. You seem oddly concerned with this apparent mockery for reasons only you seem to understand. The fact you expect stars from each team says enough about the whole thing. But please, continue to dig up reasons about how you are somehow slighted by the most irrelevant part of the entire game experience...

I thought the 3 star thing deserved a mention but that was about it. Not really that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things.

Just a few quick comments on Dumont's poor coaching. Case#1: 29 seconds left in the first period, down by two, achance to create some offence, maybe score and go into the 2nd period with momentum, faceoff in the offensive zone; answer: send out the 4th line. Case#2: on several occasions while on the PP Dumont puts Fournier on the 2nd unit. Now, I like Fournier, but he has shown all year he has no scoring touch. Good idea, leave Hoyt on the bench,or Bertrand who is effective on the PP in front of the net, and use Fournier. What a joke. With regards to Leveille, sit him, move Bisson, who is twice the Dman,IMO, into his spot and dress Dower. Couldn't possibly be any worse.Lets see what kind of response,or lack thereof, he has for Saint John.

I found it funny in a ridiculous sort of way. Still do. But now onto game 4.

I didn't see much of Smith or Hoyt last night, but I might not have noticed them. Dumont has always made bad decisions and we can't change that. Scratch Baillergeon and put in Dower. Dower played well when in the lineup and Baillergeon couldn't pass or shoot last night, but most on the Eagles couldn't..

No word on any suspension yet for Dubois, will not be surprised if he is suspended. In that case, who plays with the Russians. IMO, move Hoyt on with the Russians, he has the offensive skills and speed to play with them, put MacSween into the lineup in Hoyts place on the 4th line.No sign of Bishop.Lets hope for a better effort tonight.Go Eagles Go.

They need Bishop tonight but I doubt he'll play.

The Eagles play a very dirty style and could have had twice the penalties last night. Our crowd complaining about those refs was pretty hilarious.

I focused more on the players then the officials last night. Although the officials were bad, that's no excuse for the effort the boys gave last night. They need to play smart, but the idiot behind the bench is too stupid to tell them that..

“The first and second period are the worst two periods I’ve seen in four months,” said Cape Breton head coach Marc-André Dumont.
He didn't mention discipline to the Post but at least he realized how bad of an effort they had

Have to wonder if Svechnikov is playing with a hurt shoulder. He looked like a completely different player last night.

Svechnikov is looking no where like a first rounder right now.
The kid scares me. It seems like if the slightest thing doesent go his way he turns into a pissy child and begins the lumber jack game and only degresses as the game goes on. So easy to get the kid off his game.
I still have to wonder though if he's playing through something...
Last night it seemed like the only guy who gave a damn was Fiore. We need all of our guns to play with the passion and intensity of Fiore. And to a lesser extent a Martineau.

I liked Deschamps but we got great value in Fiore. The mannequin cant coach but he's good at getting a deal.
