True, but Southorn is one of our better dman. I think he has great vision on the ice, and works hard. I dont like the idea of Walker getting a letter. Although he gets alot of points, he's lazy. Twinkle toes gets lazy and can barely keep up with the play, only when its in the attacking zone. Thats just IMO.

Walker MAin Lachaine I don't like the idea of giving a "letter" to a 17yr old. I agree C - Walker A - Main A - Lachaine Another guy who has been steady and I think of as a leader on the team and worthy of consideration is Gallant.

Seeing Walker with the C would be a good way to finish off his career, and he has grown on me this season, really can't find anything negative to say about him. With all 3 players that held letters gone, we'll get 3 fresh faces.
I would like to see C-Lachaine A-Walker A-Main

Rocket go with alternating captains The Guardian
Geoff Walker, Brian Main and Mathew Lachaine will share captain's duties for the remainder of the season for the P.E.I. Rocket of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. The Rocket made the announcement today in a press conference. With the recent shake-up of the roster from ma series of late trades, and it being late in the season, head coach Guy Chouinard decided not to have a player's vote but to stick with the three-player rotation they've been using since their captain and assistant captains were traded. "We liked the idea with the rotation and that's how we'll go," Choiunard said. Islander Walker looks forward to wearing the 'C' in his home arena, he said. "It's everyone's dream to do that."
My gut reaction is that I don't like the idea. Someone should be given the responsibility and step and do the job. Maybe the three can share it but I'm not a fan of this three captain rotation.

The leaders will lead whether or not they have a letter on their jersey and the younger players will likewise respect and follow a guy on his merits regardless of a "letter". One of the best things about a "rotating C" is that it's not one person's job to lead the team. Everyone can and does make a difference.....good leadership builder IMO for the younger players. With the remaining games left, this group will be built as a team.....and all will hopefully contribute. Next season the Rocekt will have a set captain.

I like the idea and a smart move on Guy's part. This gives these three guys a chance to see if they're suited for the job and if not then no hard feelings and if so then go with the guy who does the best job.

I really do not consider it to be a smart move. Either there is or isn't a leader.
It's a recipe to establish factions and camps within the team.
It allows a player with an issue to pick and choose which Captain he uses to resolve it or if he gets an answer he doesn't like he can shop it around and work the Captains against each other. Not unlike how kids try and play one parent off against another at times.
If you don't know who is the captain go with three A's till the leader emerges.

What does having the "C" have to do with being a "leader"? Players don't need "letters" to be leaders...... 2004-2005 PA Bureau did not have a letter.....was he not a leader on this team?

A player can be a leader and not have a letter, but a captain should always be a leader and often is the player that the majority of the team considers to be "the leader".
