Latal over plays just about everything he touches. it is little wonder he seems to be in the coaches doghouse. i wish his head would catch up with his feet so he could actually FINISH a play. is this our Sergei Samsonov??
RN is a great looking team. if we can sneak out of there without getting shelled it will be a good thing.

Great goal by Casavant on a nice effort by MacLean & Locke.
The more I see of Casavant the more I like him and can't wait to see him in person.
After watching the Drummonville game and some of this game I am really leaning towards the following lines.
Walker-Lachaine-Casavant (keep him up there he is earning it and he could play with Lachaine next season) Kana-Tougisant-Doyle (we need some 2nd line scoring potential top line next season) Gallant-Locke-Maclean (playing great together) Latal-CoonCome-MacKinley (Can't see them having good chemistry but a very good 4th line)
Southorn-Quaile (Why were they split up?) Garnier-Malouin Main-Gomes (Gomes looks better this game and Corey said he was better against VdO but I still prefer Neiderer for the future) Neiderer (appears to be barely playing again)

Gallant to Locke for a nice goal. This line has had a great road trip.
3 out 6 points on a long road tri with the new fces and 3 games in four night is not bad. Could easily have picked up 2 last night had they held it together better in the third.
I think we're going to be verr pleased with the new players from the litttle I got see this weekend on the internet.

Doyle is over a pt per game.......forgive the 17yr old if he doesn't perform up to par every game. It happens to the best of players.

Yet Latal and MacKinley are the healthy scratches Latal has been invisable since Guy took over... Doyle is over a pt per game.......forgive the 17yr old if he doesn't perform up to par every game. It happens to the best of players. Doyle racks up a lot of points because he plays on the top PP unit with the best players and for much of the season was riding shotgun with Morrison and Walker. He was put in situations where it was almost difficult to NOT to pick up points. Some nights he looks like the best player on the ice, but more often than not he's been rather ineffective. Still playing well for a 17 yr old though. IMO, some of Guy's decisions over the road trip have been questionable at best. Latal and Lafleur both were in need of confidence boosters, yet he decided to sit the struggling Latal, who I might add just came off an impressive showing at the WJC, and start Lafleur vs. one of the best teams in the Q. I agree though, Latal hasn't been himself since Chouinard took over. Under Jean he was one of the "go to" players and really seemed to excel, but under the new coach his role has been signifigantly reduced. Could be a clash there, who knows, but if it does continue, it wouldn't surprise me to see him leave under these conditions and finish the season off in Europe. This team is going to need both Latal and Lafleur down the stretch, so Guy really needs to find a way to get the most out of those guys, which he hasn't been doing......
