You really have to be a special kind of idiot to see this in that light. Social media has really created a special breed of political morons who love headlines but hate understanding reality. Khadr deserved a bullet in the head, he didn't deserve one cent of that $10 M he got from this country. If you didn't give him 10 the Supreme Court was going to give him many times that. Harper ignored it and Trudeau had to deal with it. Like many other aspects of the country we're now spending to improve.

Billions of dollars in infrastructure spending which was promised in the 2015 election campaign is now not slated to be spent until 2021-2025, that was the biggest reason why I ignored my better judgement and voted Liberal last election. Doubt I'll ever make that mistake again.

I'm not Trudeau's biggest fan....but voting for Scheer or Singh to inspire any positive change is laughable from my perspective.

Normally I would have voted Conservative and watch that candidate finish a distant third in Halifax Citadel but I liked Andy Filmore and wanted Megan Leslie out as she didn't do anything for my riding in opposition except yell in the House of Commons. I figured voting C would be a wasted vote so I voted L as I figured it would be super close. If I end up liking enough of whatever platform Scheer puts out I'll vote my brain next time but I won't put voting strategically out of the picture either... just because I stick up for Trump doesn't mean I'm a hard right conservative, I prefer to think of myself as fiscally pragmatic ( lets face it, fiscal conservatism is a myth) , socially moderate and I'm relatively hawkish when it comes to foreign policy. My prediction is that if Scheer gets too high in the polls there will either be allegations of Russian ties or sexual harassment come out about him

My prediction is that if Scheer gets too high in the polls there will either be allegations of Russian ties or sexual harassment come out about him And i'll admit that a part of my Trudeau vote, as much as it was about the needed change from Harper, was that I am the stereotypical Liberal voter the other sides hate who is looking forward to the Marijuana legalization and simply being able to buy a bag of grass and drive from point a to point b with it or go into a local store or online and make a purchase without fear of my name ending up on page 3 of the newspaper. To me the Cons had the ideal time here to prep the right person for the job as Canadians are already ready for a shift away from the Golden Boy due to his complete head in the sand approach to certain issues and they're completely wasting everyones time with Scheer who is another old school Con that voters will have a tough time getting behind. As I get older the more I hate the American system yet only tend to view ours as a 2 horse race due to how incompetent the NDP is.

Strategic patience as Obama called it didn't work but tough sanctions and talk had worked, North Korea is close to bankruptcy and want to have talks now.
Gotta love Rachel Maddow, she calls the talks risky, well no because it is being done with Trump who has a backbone unlike her hero, Obama who sold out to Iran just to get a foreign policy "win"

He went from putting tariffs on all steal, to everybody but Canada and Mexico to then negotiating with each individual country...which will turn into a whole lotta nothing. Conservatives are losing their shit...with the tariffs, cheating on his pregnant wife and piling onto the deficit

Is Trump or anyone else in the administration really prepared to have such a high-stakes negotiation? With Trump — who can't even follow lawyers’ advice not to witness tamper — the chance of going off-script is exceptionally high, with disastrous results.

So a few things: 1) Trump’s tariffs will destroy more manufacturing jobs than it creates; 2) Kim’s successful nuke tests made him happy to talk and Trump agreeing to a summit is a US concession; 3) Pace of job growth has slowed since Obama era; 4) The budget deficit is exploding.

No matter how you slice it, a portion of Trump supporters are not people I want to associate with. They are racists who don't like the fact that blacks or Hispanics are equal, that's a big part of Trump's message. Constant dog whistles about immigrants and minorities plus very little respect for women. It's a group of people who would rather line in the 1950's. Part of them live in the back woods with meager means and are jealous of those with an education and high paying jobs...Trump tries to appeal to them by calling those people "coastal elites" which ironically enough Trump wants to fit in with but doesn't really. Trump is the weird kid in school who desperately wants to fit in but always runs others the other way. The funny part of Trump's presidency is, his big "win" of the tax bill is a win for those making big money, not the guy making 25-30k per year in Alabama or Missouri. Those folks actually end up paying a bigger share of the tax pie...Trump has conned these loyal voters and they are too dumb to figure it out. Same for the multi billion dollar wall he said Mexico would pay for, that will end up on the backs of the everyday Joe by taxes... That being said Clinton has nothing to gain by saying it, but it's a free country and she can say what she wants.
