Brad Gallant, our very own tough guy, was considered for the QMJHL offensive player of the week. www.lhjmq.qc.ca/lang_en/index.php?page=232&id_nouvelle=1654Great to see Brad step into a role he may not be used to on this roadie, and provide some offense. Credit to Locke and MacLean, with he has great chemistry.

Brad had a great road trip and showed some people that he's more then just a "goon".
As mentioned, Gallant, Locke, and MacLean all played well on this roadie.....a very good sign.

For me Gallant. Has been a great surprise. He has shown himself to be a smart disciplined player. He has added to the offence does not take stupid penalties and drops the mits when needed.
Fantsatic upgrade on our twenty this fall.

Yep Gallant was a great addition.. made up for the piss poor acquisition of swit
I doubt he gets too much more consideration for offensive player awards but no reason he can't continue to chip in the occasional goal.. I think 15-20 is a reasonable expectation now..
people forget he did pot a few last year as well

Last year, Gallant had 11 goals and 6 assists in 66 games with Cape Breton. This year, Gallant, in 34 games, has 9 goals and 10 assists. That projects to 33 points (16 goals and 17 assists), which seems to be good numbers for a 4th line forward (correct me if I'm wrong). I would think that Gallant is getting more playing time this year, as opposed to last year. What I like most about Gallant is that even though he's not the greatest skater, he makes great passes, and has a good, hard shot. Some of Gallant's success has been due to the play of Locke and MacLean. This line has shown great chemistry, and have been the best line in some games. Locke's game has picked up, and MacLean's surprising (to me anyway) development has lots of fans talking. His work ethic is very good, and he is very skilled. He gets knocked around a bit, but seems to never stop working. I'm glad Chouinard is giving him the opportunity to play and progress, something that was not happening in the pre-Chouinard era. Together, this line seems to have found a nice little niche on the team, and have found success through hard work. I trhink I'll run out and get a pair of shades.......because the future of this hockey team looks bright! ;D

I'm not overly surprised by his development, this is how young players should develop. It's just that we finally have a coach who knows how to help them do that. I don't think we'll ever see him be a top line scorer but I definitely think he has 2nd line potential and should be a very good secondary scoring option in a couple of years time. Now if only he can pick up his first career goal and get that monkey off his back...

I too am very pleased with what we are getting from Gallant even though he was tabbed as a goon, he is providing us some strong offensive play as well.
Maclean's future looks bright heading into next year but it will be interesting to see who he will be paired up with next year as neither Gallant or Locke will be back.
