-5, did he play that bad or was he up against their top line? He played the entire game at centre ice when puck was in our zone...was only involved in the play for one of the goals against...played most of series on 4th line moved up as result of injuries... Move him while he still may have value to help our future Or you find a coach who teaches him to be defensively responsible and that you only get to think aboutvscoring after you get the puck out of your zone. Look at Garland...they let him play pond hockey for three years....great points ...horrible hockey player. But rewarding a guy who glides back down the ice and doesn't backcheck is wrong...that is a coaching issue.

Problem is that it was the coaches game plan to keep a forward at centre all night - obviously theory didn’t work tonight

See you in September! Anxious and nervous to see what comes of off season. Draft, euro draft, any management changes etc Hopefully we can trade MacDonald at the draft for something...only thing team thinks he is capable of doing is standing at centre ice while accumulating a -5 for the game While I agree that he is poor defensively and stops moving his feet often...he is only 17 and those are things that can be improved...still not a fan of their strategy of "Let's pass on this guy in the 1st then trade 3 1st rounders to get him" strategy...

That being said, Garland is far far from the only guy in junior that only plays one way...when you are a superstar they let you do it. MacDonald is not at Garland's level skill wise.
