Rough week in the QMJHL.
DK was an awesome person, I only talked to him briefly but it struck me how down to earth he was. He's inspirational, not only his battle with cancer, but just his outgoing personality in general.
This one will take a while to sink in.... Rest in peace DK. You will be remembered.

I say he should be inducted in the Hall of Fame next. I hope his legacy continues and someone takes over and expands the Monkey Bandaid program.
Why not use his place in Harbour Station to sell Monkey Bandaid apparel?

I'd love the Q to have an award in his honour to a player or even team that had to persevere through some sort of hardship in the season. It would be an amazing way to honour him. Maybe have a cash reward that goes to the charity of that player/team's choice. |

I never had the opportunity to meet David but about a year ago, I was tutoring a young 13 year old girl with leukemia. I wrote David on his facebook page and mentioned how I appreciated all he was doing and his courage served as an inspiration to so many including the young girl I was tutoring. He messaged me back a wanted to know the girls name and address. Several days later she received a couple of Monkey Band-aid t-shirts and other items and a wonderful encouraging letter. He did this for so many right up to his very last days on this earth as evidenced by what Jason Baxter said on CTV on the day David died. The young girl I am tutoring is in complee remission and David's letter meant so much to her.
