I figured it was time to update the Prospects Update. I'll start with those selected in the 2018 QMJHL Draft followed by the 2017 Draft then players acquired via trade.


2018 QMJHL Draft

Mark Hillier - St. Andrews College - 6 goals, 11 assists in 10 games

Jeremy Berube - College Notre Dame - 2 goals, 10 assists in 34 games

Gavin Watt - Cole Harbour Wolfpack - 17 goals, 20 assists in 33 games 

Sam Dow - Campbellton Tigers - 0 goals, 9 assists in 33 games 

Owen Stammer - College Charles Lemoyne / Longueuil College Francais - 1 goal, 12 assists in 13 games (Midget AAA) & 1 goal, 2 assists in 12 games (Junior A) 

Joe Chambers - Cole Harbour Wolfpack - 2.08 GAA, .908 save percentage in 16 games

Francis Langlois - College Charles Lemoyne - 10 goals, 18 assists in 39 games

Alexandre Parent - Estacades de Trois Rivieres - 19 goals, 14 assists in 39 games

Brandon Walker - Lac St. Louis - 6 goals, 18 assists in 40 games 

Zach Alchorn - St. Stephen Aces - 11 goals, 12 assists in 36 games

Josh Crooks - Halifax Macs - 8 goals, 12 goals in 33 games 


2017 QMJHL Draft

Jaden Mason - Pictou Country Crushers - 12 goals, 9 assists in 34 games

Mark Rumsey - Tri Pen Osprey - 15 goals, 15 assists in 18 games 


Acquired Via Trade

Jeremie Hebert - Miramichi Timberwolves - 4 goals, 9 assists in 36 games 



Sam Dow and Jeremie Hebert have been called up with the 3 game suspensions to Anttalainen and Aspirot. 
I wouldn't be surprised if Jeremy Berube is called up for a couple games. His team completes their regular season this weekend and failed to qualify for the playoffs.
Mark Hillier is committed to Merrimack College.

I was expecting a lot more from Langlois Walker and Stammer.

I was expecting a lot more from Langlois Walker and Stammer.

Langlois is having a very good season on a bad team.

Walker had a slow start to the season. I think 2 points in the first 15 games. He’s had a strong 2nd half.

3rd and 4th lines??

Yeah, I don't see anybody the Cats currently own that isn't in the q as being a top 6 F, top 2 D or starting goalie...

Yeah, I don't see anybody the Cats currently own that isn't in the q as being a top 6 F, top 2 D or starting goalie...

Hopefully in time with a true rebuild, we can some day have some late 1st and 2nd round picks playing Midget that will process into 1st and 2nd line players, having a boat full of fringe players, there is only so many spots available on the 3rd and 4th lines. we need to build a solid base.
