what happened last night that caused a crap load of misconducts late in the second period? It was basically a line brawl that the Wildcats got the worst of (McKenna & Khovanov especially). Mckenna got pummelled and Khovanov was holding jerseys with another Moosehead when out of the blue a loose cannon skated over and smoked Khovanov with an unsuspecting punch. Not going to say Khovanovs play doesn't draw anger from opposing teams, but nobody is deserving of a sucker punch. The jumbotron played the punch probably 2-3 times after the melee. The craziest thing about the whole thing is that Sylvestre (our apparent enforcer) did nothing to respond to it. I can't imagine another team not responding to 2 of their 3 best players getting fed and no retaliation...especially when the game was already unwinnable by that point. I remember T Ettinger going into the Shawinigan bench to avenge things that got out of hand on the ice...but maybe the game has changed so much that stars can't be protected anymore. I'm predicting the face of this team will change drastically by next year, once Torchetti gets his chance to add his type of players. I'd be shocked to see less than 10 new faces next year....

It's funny hearing about the brawls from different perspectives.
I agree Joel Bishop was clearly trying to draw McKenna into something he wanted no part of, McKenna also wouldn't drop his stick, and ended up hitting Bishop in the face with his stick about 3 or 4 times. I think that's pretty unacceptable.
But as mentioned above, that's Jordan McKenna, why is Joel Bishop all over your star player and nobody helps him?
I didn't see what sparked the line brawl behind the net, I wonder if hockeyfights has a video or something?

As I thought when I saw it live, DeJong escalates it by literally jumping over Getson and (I can't tell who the WC player is) to try to clothesline Barron.
Higgins is simply coming in to even the numbers, it was 3 red jerseys to two white before that.
Probably not necessary for Higgins to start throwing punches, but DeJong definitely escalates it first.
Really tho, if the Seitz elbow is called, none of this happens. Langille loses control of the game yet again by not calling what's right in front of him, but, hey, should make for some fun games down the road. It's been a while since we've had a rivalry this heated haha.

So Higgins coming in to even numbers is OK, but Dejong coming to even numbers isn't? I originally was going to say there were already two WC players in there, but I watched again to make sure, DeJong and Khovanov actually come in at about the same time, I guess I missed that before. On second watch too, I really don't like that punch from Higgins. Khovanov clearly has no intention of dropping the gloves. Edit- To clarify, I'm still not okay with DeJong leaving his feet to go at Barron.

Higgins should have been tossed for that. I thought when it was live that the 3rd altercation would have meant GMs. But instead they only gave out 10 min penalties. Not even fighting majors.
Higgins should have had a GM for that. The league will not likely impose any now because they would go with the officials on that sort of play.
Fun part is they play again on Saturday.

Was nice to see Higgins give him what he deserves. The way he acted in November and the way he handles himself on the ice he’s lucky this is all he got. If you want to run your mouth and showboat you better be able to back it up.

Here's the video of what sparked the physicality. On the replay it doesn't look like there was head contact, but it was very close, dangerous hit.
