From a Titan fan perspective, it takes the sting out a little knowing that our pick turned out to be a number #3 instead of a #1...only a little bit though...

Would you make this trade? To Sherbrooke: 3rd overall To Moncton: 9th overall, 10th overall and 2020 3rd round pick (Bathurst) In theory if there isn't a whole lot of separation between the #3 rated player and others in the top 10 then this trade would make sense. I would only be in favor of a deal like this if they plan on using the picks . My reservation for a deal like this would be that when we have done that in recent years it wasn't handled properly. In 2016 we traded down for more picks and then traded out of the 1st round altogether and have nothing to show for it. In 2017 we had 3 1st rounders and traded one again (Halifax trade) only to have nothing to show for it. We were better off using the original picks in both those instances.

I have no issue trading back if you still get good players and not piss the picks away on busts or NCAA guys that never show.

I think it all depends if you believe that you can get one of the guys leaning towards going to the NCAA with one of those picks. I legitimately believe that now that the Cats are stuck picking 3rd they’ll go all in and try to win next year. I'm looking at Zach Dean and Evan Nause with back-to-back picks. Dean is a forward from Newfoundland and will be at the Telus Cup with the Toronto Nationals. Nause is a defenseman from Riverview but has played away from home since he was 12. Did Dean move up and start playing with the Major Midgets after his Minor Midget season ended?

I was under the impression he was with the Major Midgets team, but he will be on Team Newfoundland at the Gatorade Challenge.

From Neil Hodge's most recent article:
The Wildcats have three of the top 37 picks, including the No. 3 pick, in the 2019 QMJHL draft.
"We know we're going to get a very good player with the third pick," said Thibeau. "We have it narrowed down to five possible players we could take with this pick. We'll be watching these guys with extra attention at the two events this week. Guys can still move up or down on our list."
My guesses: Cameron Whynot, Zachary L'Heureux, Zachary Bolduc, Zach Dean, Evan Nause.

Unless they have some sort of 100% gaurentee they should stay far away using the #3 pick on him.

I think they just realistically know that Roy and Robidas won’t likely be on the table, they may still be considering them with their pick but it’s probably a long shot that they’ll even be there. So really they’re either looking at 5 guys (2 of which won’t be there) or 5 other options that they fully expect to be on the board and available.

Roy is a lock to go 1sy, Robidas should go 2nd but he could also slide to 5th. The scouts I spoke to said the big drops are 1 to 2 and 5 to 6. Roy should be a superstar, the other 4 should be stars/impact players. This one hurts a lot more for Moncton.

I know some people haven’t been as high on him lately and other guys are pushing him but I think he’s going to be an elite defender in this league, he fits what the Wildcats are looking for.
