What I find most interesting is they kept all of dumonts scouts and Jacques Carrier. Talked to Jacques before. Seemed like an intelligent man. Might prove to be a smart decision to keep somebody on staff who has an idea of the ins and outs of the league to help a new GM navigate the waters. Always felt the job Carrier did was ruined by Dumont's development and buying. No issue with him staying. Gotta think about this one ...not sure how I feel about it . Might be a little Dumont Stench left there .......but I guess like I said ...Take The Big Win .

Shows some thought actually went into this and they didn't cast everybody with the same brush and pin the blame on the whole off ice team. Like you said he's done a good job of identifying talent. Not his fault Dumont ruined them. And you pay your scouts all year for Junes draft. Firing them now would be a waste of a year if you couldn't find the right replacements quickly.

Congrats guys...it was pretty clear that Dumont was a major bottleneck that kept keeping the team from either its best roster, or its top potential. It seems like every year, 2nd round was the furthest you could hope for. Hopefully this changes the vibe around the team, and on the ice.

Sportsnet is running with the report as well.
Interesting Shaw is putting such a denial out there when multiple guys were ready to run with the story many of us have been hearing for weeks.

Our last couple coaching hires were off the Q scrap heap and just did not work out. But i dont think any of us thought the next guy would have a Jack Adams on his resume. The vibe almost goes full 180 with this kind of move.

Not his fault Dumont ruined them. Good point. Eagles scouting staff has done a very good job, none of this is on them. They draft well, but half the guys they draft get traded for vets in short sighted deals that hurt the organization.

Just reading the press release on the Eagles website.Interestingly enough, right at the bottom it indicates they are going to form a search committee to look for a new head coach. Good lord, how many committees do they need?
