A few quick notes from last night's 2-1 victory.
Rodrigue loses shutout with 5 seconds to go...ouch, but for now a win is a win. Seitz did not play. Khovanov took a few penalties, one being a 4 minute penalty well after the whistle...he never saw the ice again. Good on the coach. Pelletier was ...Pelletier, man what a warrior! L'Heureux looked like he was riding the coattails of his linemates early on, but now he seems to be doing it on his own. i think we have a bigger Pelletier 2.0 on our hands. He looked as good as Robidas who was taken 2nd overall ahead of him but bigger. Spence seems to have matured alot. the 4th line must be mentioned as i thought they did a great job also!.

Would also like to point out that Roy and Robidas would of never been a wildcat regardless if they won the lottery. L’heureux is the guy they wanted whether it was 1/2/3 and he’s clearly showing why.

You would think Khovanov would learn by getting older, it's nuts how many dumb penalties he takes, and teams know it.

No way in hell were they passing on Roy if they had 1st pick overall. Wasn’t there some concerns about Roy’s offensive production mainly coming on the PP? I know Hockey Propsect had Robidas ranked #1. Not sure Roy was the absolute, no doubt first overall pick when it came right down to it.

Between them they have 4g and 2a combined after 7 games . Sure looks like we actually won the lottery !

Claiming you won the lottery and got the best player after 7 games is pretty bold 7 games is plenty of time to evaluate, assuming you've seen all 7 games and not just reading box scores. I always liked Robidas at #1 based off Canada Games and the Telus cup. I was never a fan of Roy. Didnt think he skated well enough and thought he would have a tough time transitioning to the Q. With that said if I were picking 2nd, and given his production in MAAA, I'm not sure i'd have the guts to pass him over.

Are Roy and Robidas getting top line icetime with two players equal to the level of Khovanov and Pelletier ? I know Roy isn't in SJ.

Those guys see 100 MAAA/junior games a year.

You don’t decide who win or lost a draft in October of their 16 year old season ... that sounds like something a certain Northern based poster would do. L’Heureux is off to a great start, and certainly looks like he is going to be a great player - but let’s wait a couple of years before we decide who the top player in the 2019 draft turns out to be.
