I was reluctant to call for a change in coaching but this team has not improved defensively and that is something that you would think could be improved with coaching.

Where is this team that was going to be so improved? At what point do you stop blaming the team and start focusing on the coaching? Time to give a call to Darren Rumble. He wouldn't be a good fit for a team struggling defensively IMO

It's more about who is available right now. Not many real good coaches available right now as they are all employed already. A few names out there: Paul MacLean, Fabian Joseph, Josh Hepditch or maybe a wildcard like former NHL dman and Owen Sound Attack head coach Todd Gill Felix Potvin would be an interesting candidate he’s coaching midget AAA in Quebec.

At Sunday's game I sat beside one of the parents of one of the Seadog players ... no names mentioned. He wasn't happy with the Coach and his style. He was saying he doesn't seem to like creative hockey players and prefers a more grinding style from everybody. I think what that is is he is trying to teach defense first and needs to get a buy in from everybody before he can take the next step to allow creativity.

I thought I heard that Joseph had moved on from coaching to a non-hockey career. Would Paul MacLean want to coach junior at this point in his career? I thought he was basically retired? Georgie has good connections in Ontario, so it wouldn’t shock me if he looks in that direction should he decide to make a move ... Troy Smith and Jim Midgley 2 coaches that are available. Smith a OHL coach no Clue where Midgley is. Rumble the same he’s available don’t know where he is either. Always makes me wonder in London is Hunters Son Dylan would be willing to leave to be a head coach somewhere in the CHL

Wow, if he is trying to teach defense first I hate to see him teaching anything else. So, either he is lousy at the first or he has lost the room. That can only lead to one thing...change of scenery.

Not defending the coaching staff because to me something is going sideways here that they need to fix, but....
With 3 "veteran" D that are bottom pairing/healthy scratch guys
and 5 17 year old D all of who appear to be of the offensive minded variety....
How good did we actually expect this D corps to be defensively? Its pretty much as advertised I'd say.

But to me you need to show improvement each year and under this coaching staff there hasn’t been much improvement in my opinion. There kids there going to make mistakes and take there bumps and bruises along the way. But there needs to be a end result here with what I keep saying and some improvement and to develop these young kids under this coaching staff I don’t see it happening. They need to find a good experienced coach that’s good with kids good communicator to get threw to them. I hope things turn around here soon but I don’t see it under this coaching staff. What about Burns dad isn’t he a coach ?

The real problem that both the Seadogs and the Titan face is that the other four teams in your division are all in the contender conversation at this early stage of the season. Not sure if Halifax will stay the course as they have to start a rebuild and waiting a year will lose them a big pile of assets on Groulx and Lavoie. So 32+ of your games this season will be vs four very strong teams. Add in games vs the other contenders like Rimouski and Sherbrooke and you get to something like 40 of your 68 games (59%) are vs potential contending teams.
