Down the Stretch

WE have 11 games left to play ... 5 at home and 6 on the road. Our next 4 are on the road, and then 5 in a row at home, and then finish with two on the road.

The three key games are against Chic, Rim and CB, and all of them we have a day of rest before each game. No 3 in 3s anymore. None of the other games are easy, especially Drum and Char, but we should have a better chance of success in those games.

I think if we beat Chic on Thursday that will probably be what we need to clinch the conference, but we should get at least 2 of 3 on the upcoming Quebec roadtrip.

It would be nice to run the table to close out the season, and go 28-0-1-0 over the final 29 game stretch. But that would be difficult at best and you expect to have at least one bad game in there. If we go 3 fr 3 over the upcoming Quebec roadtrip, that should secure it for us.

Its doubful that we catch Sherbrooke, as we'd need them to lose 3 of their next 10, or drop 5 pts over that stretch. One game vs Rimouski is as tough as it gets for them.

We are at 89 pts today with 11 to go, and so 22 pts available. We should top 100 pts with 111 pts the most we can get.

Also noteworthy that we are the best defensive team in the Q with only 138 goals against to date. Sherbrooke is second with 153 with one extra game played. Sherbrooke leads with 265 GF to our 250 (2nd best), and we both have a 112 GF-GA differential.

As long as we are healthy and Rodrigue gets hot anything can happen. It would be nice to beat any of the top teams down the stretch, CHI, RIM and CAP.
Most teams need to face some adversity , the comeback win against RIM was a test and I was impressed that they didn't give up (especially with all of the calls against them in the first period) and RIM tying it up the third ,and they still pulled out a big win ! You could feel the energy in the building when pelletier scored the winner!

Any word on the status of Andersson ?

Wow 6 more boring games vs teams in the local drive. The league is sinking making the second part of the season reak. Go beat up hfx and titan 10-2 and that really is so good for the league. Oh well in 20-21 moncton will be right back where it usually is 18th place trying to hire a coach again.

Pelletier and Groulx both with goals #29 on their respective seasons.

With Cyr, McKenna, Khovanov and Fortier already having 30+, you guys are almost certain to get those 6 30 goal scorers. The offensive depth on this team is unreal.

That went well last night. When we turned the speed of the game up in the 2nd and 3rd, Chic could not keep up.

If the Cats go 5-5-0, Chicoutimi would need to go 9-2-0 to win the conference. A combination of points gained by the Cats and lost by Chicoutimi to take it is 15, so 7-2-1 guarantees them the conference even with Chi going 11-0-0.

I'm not sure. He sort of threw a half-assed check on the forecheck and then was grabbing at his neck and dropped his gloves and stick and skated straight to the bench. I thought he had been cut by a skate or something but the replay didn't show anything like that. I think he returned before the end of the game. He was wearing a cage the whole game to clearly protect some sort of facial injury so maybe he re-aggravated that.
