Richard is a 2002, so they basically get an 18 year old for Q purposes.

Hodge had an article this morning about having tough choices to get to 34 players, any guesses on the players in and out? Cats currently have 77 players listed including FA plus 2 Euro OA's(special list)

All speculation, but with Bathurst now moving NKF in a lateral trade, it looks like there was more of a reason to trading him than simply being a piece to acquire huntley

What if he can’t get into the country? If however there’s no issues with Europeans in like Americans then yes I would agree with you. But until that is answered I think you have to DLC in still.

I have a hard time imagining them bringing in someone from outside the Atlantic bubble if they don't project them to be on the final roster.

Euros should not be an issue, though one is Russian, Americans may not be able to get in at all.

By drafting a 19 year old Euro, that tells me Cornish is not in the plans. Not necessarily. The Wildcats will be young and inexperienced, plus they won't have their own 1st. There's not much point to intentionally tanking, and nothing kills the confidence of your young players like getting blown out every night, so why not have 2 veteran guys to carry that load? Anything they can do to relieve some of the stress from the skaters is a plus in my book. Granted, if Katz comes and is that good, then he can fill that role as well.

I personally struggle to see DiMattia or Sheehan thriving in a backup role for this team... I think they’d get rocked and rocked hard. I know they’re 17 this year so they’re getting close to no longer being “prospects” if they don’t make it this year but I think they’d be better served with Usnik (who knows how good he will actually be) and DLC in net to weather the storm on what’s going to be a very weak team. I think his stats are inflated due to his team down the stretch but DLC numbers and the fact he’s probably better than Usnik, makes me think I’d role with DLC as the starter in this rebuilding year.

They can have a veteran starter with a young guy as #2. I don't see them using an OA spot plus a Euro spot in nets, but stranger things have happened. I heard they are high on Dimatta and Sheehan is a decent prospect, I would like to see both get at least 5 Q starts.

At this point they have a pretty solid D, if some up the kids step up up front and they can have a couple of solid FA, they will be better than anticipated. The division is pretty wide open, Bathurst is still young, Halifax is just starting a rebuild, PEI doesn't look strong. I see CB, having lost big guns and SJ, still a bit young but very skilled as the two contenders for top spot. None of those 5 should be a powerhouse.

Personally, I think they would be foolish not to at least bring Lund-Cornish to camp to compete for a job. Especially until Usnik actually makes it to Moncton, which is no foregone conclusion, and they see if he is actually up to the task of being a Q starter (he is not a blue chip Euro, and has played mostly in lower calibre leagues - he may or may not be good enough to play in the Q).
I can see Katz being a guy they wait a year on to bring to camp ... Sheehan and DiMattia are inside the bubble and won't need to quarantine upon arrival.
