I can't make out the names on a small screen - anyone know if there is a list of the players' numbers for today's game?

It probably has to do with the level of competition but J.Stewart and Foreman look more comfortable out there with the puck. I can see both getting a lot more minutes this year and being shopped in December, same for S.Stewart and Daoust.
Dejong and Spence are obvious candidates to be moved due to their return(plus Fortier if he was actually to stay all year). I could see them keeping Hudson plus possibly Cornish and J.Stewart as veterans for stability unless they can get a big return.
As players get permission to come over, Campbell? Barbashev and Usnik should take over spots. Along with possibly Rozzi and Hopkins.
Some of the interesting calls will be the 18 year olds...Dow Watt Stammer Wilson Berube battling 17 year olds.
Labelle Olson and Thomasini appear to be locks.
Without Hopkins...Spence Dejong Stewart plus likely Olson as locks, leaving 3 or 4 spots for Darcy Pavan Pilotte Iasenza Desrosiers Berube and Dow. I would be surprised if the keep Iasenza, he could use a big year MAAA.
Up front it's not as crowded...
Hudson Daoust Foreman J.Stewart Loshing and Clouthier Barbashev(once he can come) as locks. Campbell(if he can come) Thomasini, Labelle and Fortier(if he shows) plus 3 or 4 of Stammer Wilson Watt Casey Bernier Langlois(likely safe) Richard LeBlanc and Crooks.
Goaltending is up in the air with 4 options depending which way they go Usnik Cornish Sheehan and Diamatti could all stick. Usnik appears to be the safest bet if he can come.
Some of the guys not to make it originally could return after 3-5 guys are moved midseason.

I think Lund-Cornish is only around until Usnik arrives. We didn't draft a 19 YO goaltender to be the backup. I haven't seen everybody yet but Diamatti looked very good yesterday and has good size. I could see him being the backup to Usnik if he is allowed to come here. Keep Sheehan available for short notice callup. Katz is small and only 16 so send him back to MAAA.
Our 20s should be Hudson, DeJonge and Fortier, but I think trading Fortier as soon as possible would be wise. You'll probably get more for him now where he can play a full season for somebody. Waiting to Xmas could mean a smaller return. Also, the longer you wait the more risk that our season gets shut down and then you get nothing. However, I would expect that any trades this year will have a condition built in that if the season gets shut down then the price is reduced. The price won't get reduced to zero ... if a player changes teams and plays games then there has to be a price.
If any of Groulx or MacIsaac or Rodrigue come back then you deal them to cut down on the cost we paid for them. But that will leave us short a 20 so we'll probably deal for one ... perhaps in the Fortier trade as a throw in.

If they are short an OA, they can always get one on waivers from the Q, OHL or WHL, there are usually guys looking for spots. Not studs but solid regulars. In terms of Fortier, I think most teams would wait until a decision is made on AHL.

Loshing-Fortier-Tomassini(if he ends up being able to play top 6) Stammer-Daoust-Cloutier Foreman-Hudson-Stewart full vet line as the shut down line Labelle-Richard-Langlois Watt/Wilson, barbashev slides in somewhere when he’s allowed in
Dejong-Spence Stewart-Olson Dow-Pavan Pilotte/Darcy
Usnik(DLC until he’s allowed over) Dimattia

I think Campbell is another guy guaranteed a spot if he can get here. Obviously Hopkins and Rozzi would get spots if they decide to come,. would not be a bad idea for them to play MAAA at home at least until January. Both could add some muscle and get bigger. I have LeBlanc ahead of Richard being a year younger but those will be camp battles. I think Berube looks better than Dow(again very early).

Yeah I just see Dow having an inside track based off being as close to a returnee as you can get without being a rookie or vet. They’re going to need a strong D core. I don’t see them scoring a lot but who knows how guys like daoust step up and guys like stammer etc needing to be contributors based their age

Now he is in a tough spot with 2 other 2002's and a bunch of 2003 and 2004's. I agree that Dow's experience likely helps.

According to Neil Hodge all QMJHL teams must trim their roster from 34 to 27 by Friday.
Cats have 35 guys here currently 34 on ice and Tomasini in quarantine. So I expect 7-8 cuts depending on when Tomasini’s quarantine is over.
Here’s my prediction.
3G 9D 15F
G Lund-Cornish Sheehan Dimattia
D Spence DeJong Stewart Olson Berube Pavan Darcy Dow Desrosier
F Hudson Cloutier Daoust Stammer Langlois Stewart Watt Loshing Labelle Bernier Richard Foreman Leblanc Wilson Daniel or Vachon
Cut
Katz (G) Iasanza (D) Pilote (D) Casey (F) Crooks (F) Forsythe (F) Daniel or Vachon (F)
Quarantine - Tomasini Not here - Barbashev, Fortier and Usnik
