asked this on another post but will ask here as well forgive me i've paid very little attention to this thus far reason for asking if the tourney is to start Christmas day..... would the other teams not have to be in Canada by now quarantining before entering the bubble? or are they quarantining at home before arrival? They were tested before flying over. All teams flew to Edmonton last night, and they'll be tested again multiple times + self isolating until they pass those tests. k thanks so the 14 day isolation is not in effect?

Correct. They're using the exact same format and protocols as the NHL bubbles

If they isolate for 5 days and then take another COVID test, and then another COVID test after Day 10, they should be fine. They could actually begin practicing as a team after their day 5 test. Of course anybody that doesn't pass those COVID tests would have to be held out. NB has switched to this approach because they were finding that COVID was not being detected until 5 to 7 days after an exposure. I just went through this and isolated for 5 days, then had a negative COVID test on Day 5. After that negative COVID test I was able to leave my home and get back to work. I had another COVID test on this past Saturday and it was also negative.

I was never very concerned. I traveled to Sydney and back after the Atlantic Bubble imploded. NB requires you to isolate for 14 days or follow the Isolation route with the testing I described. I was only in Sydney for 30 mins, never came near anybody, and was back in my vehicle and heading home. I stopped once for gas ... 10 hrs of driving and 30 mins of work.

Leading up to it there were cases and exposures which had to isolate before entering the bubble. Allowing the nations to have their training camps and then enter the bubble was similar to the NHL model but we must assume the same level of testing/isolating was not done leading up to leaving for Canada therefore the risk was always going to be higher. In theory once everyone is cleared and enters the bubble there should be no issue.

10 positives & a bunch of teams shared a plane. I'll stick with what I said initially & be impressed if this tournament gets completed, at minimum it should be delayed. You have games scheduled on Christmas day with positive tests happening today, meaning other later exposures might not even show on tests for another week.
Yesterday a Sweden staff member was sent home for breaking quarantine to pick up lost luggage.

Spence with the opening goal tonight vs Slovakia. First game first shift first goal.
Trivia time: I don’t have the exact numbers to back me up but I THINK he may be only the 3rd player to score a goal for Canada at the WJC as a member of the Cats (Bourdon, Gormley). Can someone confirm this?

Trade was completed after the tournament I believe either that or the trade was made on the first day so while he was a member. He hadn’t played a game yet and he played 4 more for a total of 4 minutes and some
