They have 12 goalies listed, I assume Usnik is not coming, can't see them bringing in more than 7 or 8, some must not be reporting. Katz? McDonald? Have they announced camp format yet? If they are having a big rookie camp first, they have a number of young 2004 and 2005 born goalies that I can see them inviting just for that and then quickly sending down for seasoning, before the older guys arrive for main camp. Do something like invite 6 to rookie camp (Flemming, MacDonald, Thompson, Warren, Rowe/DiMattia/Forbes, 4 straight to main camp (Filion, Sheehan, Couture, Rowe/DiMattia/Forbes) ... I would say you're pretty close, heard the two that are not reporting are Usnik and Katz.

Anyone know when Moncton plans to announce their camp roster? It seems like Charlottetown and Bathurst already have.

I think that the only 16 year old that makes the team next year is Morin. Since most didn’t play or play much, they’re probably better served to spend a year in midget or in junior A.

I was thinking the same thing. McPhee Lounsbury and Currie are others who could crack the roster, those guys played a decent amount of games including playoffs. Let most younger guys play a lot in MAAA or Jr.A and see how things go by midseason. I assume the WC will trade 3-4 guys opening up spots, plus maybe others if older guys are not producing.

With MLSE announcing yesterday that fans will need to be vaccinated or present a negative COVID test to attend events at their venues, I would not be surprised if ASM Global institutes a similar policy for their facilities in the coming days/weeks.

With MLSE announcing yesterday that fans will need to be vaccinated or present a negative COVID test to attend events at their venues, I would not be surprised if ASM Global institutes a similar policy for their facilities in the coming days/weeks. AEG came out in the US with the same policy for all of their facilities. They are the parent company of ASM Global. Looking at the data, it would seem be the most obvious path forward to returning to normal capacities at events. As the larger companies/venues are being the leaders on this we will likely see the smaller venues like Avenir, Scotiabank etc follow along. It's too bad they havent yet approved vaccines for kids under 12 yet, that obviously would include a decent amount of the cats fan base. I'm not sure if they plan on exempting those kids from the requirements all together or if they will need a negative test. Its hard to imagine many parents going through the effort of a test just to go to a cats game.

I just renewed my season ticket with no conditions and was told at the time I could get my money back if I wasn't happy with any restrictions that may happen. I understand that the wildcats have to follow certain rules but will cancel if restrictions are put in place ( have bad allergies and have a hard time wearing a mask). It is amazing to have the right to choose ! I'm not anti -vac (Have received 1 shot so far) but enjoy my rights and freedoms to choose , and before anyone judges me I served in the armed forces and have been to many countries where citizens had no rights !

Mercier is off to a slow start in MAAA, only 6 points in 8 games, 57th in Quebec MAAA scoring after a strong camp with the WC. McPhee has missed the last 5 NSMAAA games due to injury.
On the positive side Lounsbury has 10 points in 5 games. Thompson is off to great start with Charlottetown MAAA with a 2-0 record 0.83 GAA and .968%.

How many scouts have said he's off to a slow start? How many of those 8 games have you watched? I hope your post isn't just based on his stat line.

How strong is Mercier's team? 6 points in 8 games could be considered much differently if he is the top scorer on a low scoring team ... compared to say the Moncton Flyers - not saying Lounsbury is not playing well, but the team put up 19 goals in two games in a pair of blowout wins ... so the stats are going to look great in that kind of setting.

How many scouts have said he's off to a slow start? How many of those 8 games have you watched? I hope your post isn't just based on his stat line. Of course it is. For all we know, he has hit the post 4 times ... or run into a goalie standing on his head ... for that matter, what kind of player is Mercier? Is he a guy we should be looking to see as a top scorer, or is he more of a two way or power forward type? His stats could be reflective of a small sample size, or of the type of player he is, and not necessarily a reflection of whether or not he is playing well ...

His stats could be reflective of a small sample size, or of the type of player he is, and not necessarily a reflection of whether or not he is playing well ... He also only played 2 games last season.... I think we need to rethink the way we look at the current crop of prospects, who all have their own individual circumstances..and look beyond just stats on eliteprospects.com. Some got more play than others, some will take longer to break through to their potential, some got picked higher than they should and vice versa, at a disproportionate level to previous years. Look at Auger...we picked him 12th round and now he's playing in the top 2 lines as a 17 year old (for whatever thats worth on this team) and not looking out of place. He put big numbers up at the Bantam level, then played Espoir but like most quebec players only got a few games in last year. Overall its just way too early to be drawing any conclusions. Afterall we've seen some early bust predictions on guys like McKenna after just a handful of games and we've seen how that worked out.
