Pretty big blow for the rebuild. Also leaves a gaping hole at C, Taibel has also struggled which doesn't help.

That 3rd round pick for Brooklyn Kalmikov doesn't look so bad now ! they must have had a feeling that Daoust wasn't coming back. My friend went to Sunday's game and is not a big follower of the cats (players , stats etc. ) but he said that he really noticed Kalmikov .

I've been out of the loop for a bit, could someone bring me quickly up to date on where we are in the rebuild process and who are if any are our top prospects?

I've been out of the loop for a bit, could someone bring me quickly up to date on where we are in the rebuild process and who are if any are our top prospects? They have a solid group of 16 and 17 year olds who could be big minute guys ...Iasenza Morin Loshing Filion plus guys 18 like Cloutier Brabashev and Pilotte, they seem to be lacking in star power and depth. As much as I want to be optimistic, there are probably a couple more years of rebuild before being a top team without trading every pick for 3 years. Laoshing out on at least another 1st for Daoust hurts because they don't currently have one in 2022. Guys like Labelle and Langlois should have a good value at midseason. Taibel not producing is a blow, he is only 17 but he doesn't scream future Q superstar. Guys like Barbashev(x2) and Khovanov came in and produced almost from day 1. Losing out on Hopkins, Katz and Rozzi from the 2020 draft also hurts, those were 3 top 5 round picks that never showed up. That's not to say they are in terrible shape, but lots of work remains.

I always wanted to say this, thank you Captain Obvious. What I like most about the team is they don't seem give up, that was a nice come from behind win last night.

Morin seems like an absolute steal at pick #19 so far. At 16 has moved himself up to getting top minutes and already producing offensively.
