Be interesting to see how this shakes out...will the team stay over in NS for a couple week in hopes of the bubble opening again?
If not, I’m sure they could “work isolate”. Not really sure how that would work with the players being billeted, but I believe it is possible.

Not really sure how that would work with the players being billeted, but I believe it is possible. They'll likely get an exemption from the Province with some sort of Operational Plan approved. However, PEI is very cautious and that may not be so easy. But I doubt they'd announce PEI as ready to play without some plan approved by the Province.

The Islanders made the mistake once before of jumping the gun and assuming they had clearance to play off Island even though it was in conflict with the early December circuit breaker rules. Surely they'd never repeat the error again.
Hopefully we'll get some details today to confirm how it will all proceed.

The PEI government has already given their approval.
"Public Health Officials of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island have approved the league’s plans plans for a safe return to play in the 2020-2021 regular season with games among the Halifax Mooseheads, Cape Breton Screaming Eagles and the Charlottetown Islanders."
The leagues schedule already has the visitors coming to PEI to play (source Halifax press release) and not quarantine. They "approved" the return to play plan. Which means it is an exemption with conditions.

And here comes the riot on social media by Islanders... Stay tuned to the Guardian and CBC posts. Funny thing about social media...no matter what you put up as content you're going to bring out the rioters. Anyone willing to let themselves get caught up in an irrational social media mob isn't worth the time or effort to try and explain reality. Like it or not...yes there are different rules for everyone with this stuff. Has been since day 1. Worry about the regulations on you and stop bitching and complaining about the rules for others. The hockey team playing under strict conditions is of no issue to me. Just because you can't travel to Ontario without a quarantine (the biggest complaint I see..."I cant go see someone elsewhere without 14 days of isolation...") doesnt mean 20 teenagers and 3 coaches can't safely play hockey games in empty rinks in Nova Scotia. And those players also risk retroactive rules forcing them to quarantine no different then anyone else has during this. I had friends whose family had to isolate and get tested due to retroactive provincial changes. Take anything going back to normal as good. And just ignore the constant social media blowhards who for the most part have too much time on their hands from Monday-Friday 9-5.

Islanders will need to work-isolate (only going to the arena for practices, games) in order to participate in league activities. When the games/practices are over they must go straight home and isolate from everyone.

All teams that are coming in to PEI have to get tested and then go immediately to the rink and then leave immediately after.

All teams that are coming in to PEI have to get tested and then go immediately to the rink and then leave immediately after. So it's NOT like a foreign air traveler. Prove you were tested 72 hours before arriving on PEI. So where do they test? Borden? And this is PEI in the winter. The going straight home part is a little concerning. There has been days in PEI where the bridge shuts down (high winds, dangerous driving) they cant wait in a hotel? Leeway must be built in to this.

Not sure if this plan can sustain. It seems clear to me that what the team and really to a greater extent, the league itself....what they are thinking should be best practice just does not align with how Health PEI wants to do things.
I'm not sure the team members and staff that will leave the province can adhere to the self isolation requirements up on their return. The kids can't even attend school. So, they've been asked to do the impossible... thus when they eventually break the rules it will not play out well in the public eye.
Not good.

All teams that are coming in to PEI have to get tested and then go immediately to the rink and then leave immediately after. Hasn't testing evolved now such that they are realizing that positive tests are not showing up until 5-7 days after an exposure ? This testing protocol would seem to be oblivious to that. What is the protocol that all teams must follow regarding testing ? Are players and traveling staff tested weekly ?
