Unless Georgie has been given guarantees from the Flames that he is coming back they can't wait around for him if there is a deal out there for a top 20 year old to be made.

Unless Georgie has been given guarantees from the Flames that he is coming back they can't wait around for him if there is a deal out there for a top 20 year old to be made. He's only allowed to play 25 games under a PTO. While the Flames could hypothetically sign him to another one, repeated signing him to PTOs to avoid signing an ELC would create a risk that the NHL might call that circumvention (since Calgary is near the contract limit). For right now, it means he is not here right now.

Other than the Lawrence, Dufour, Burns line nobody can score. I know there is still alot of time but I was hoping for MacDonald, Reynolds and Savoie to have big offensive years. Hopefully they can get things going soon. Alot of it might have to do with playing two very good teams five times as well. But again if you are going to be the champs you need to be on the winning end of those games. Go Dogs Go!

Ryan Francis has signed a PTO and will begin the year in Stockton. Looks like he’ll be there at least until Christmas. Big chance for some of the guys to make an impression in his absence.

Not sure he will be a guy that will help the other lines get it going offensively, hard to say. He didn't light it up in the ohl as a 17 and didn't play last year. So it's hard to say what the Dogs are getting in him at 19.
He does have good size though so that's a bonus.

Seems like a low-risk/medium to high reward scenario for us here. We've had a number of OHL cast-off that have improved our team over the years, as have other teams. We've also had experiments that didn't turn into much and didn't last long but no real loss. The fact that he didn't play last year is quite the wild card but his size certainly is a plus.
