I fully expect Quebec to win. The league didn't even bother with announcing a nonpartisan selection committee this time. Edit: Quebec ticks every box on a bid and offers more potential $. The only thing that SJ might have going on a bid is that our ownership didn't embarrass the league. This might be a dumb question but I'm drawing a blank. What did the Remparts ownership do to embarrass the league?

Videotron vetoed the league signing on to the new streaming deal (after it was announced as being done by all 3 leagues).
Edit: Quebecor
I mix them up way too much.
Quebecor owns the major sports network that WAS showing Q games (and abandoned the league) as well as being the largest Internet provider in the area.

Comes down to which team owner wants to write the bigger cheque or can bring National sponsors to the table (doesn't hurt to have TD Bank heavily involved).

I guess they must be still bidding and driving up the cost. The owners must not be willing to pay what the CHL wants.

The way things are going with Covid now, the Sea Dogs are probably not even sure if they even want to host the Memorial cup now or if there will even be one.
It was looking pretty good up until they lifted the restrictions but now who knows. Cases are climbing throughout the country.
Teams will lose alot of money hosting if they can't allow everyone in the building that wants in. Not that I am against that. I have no worries myself.
Unless they can find 6100 Vaccinated hockey fans that want to go to the games.

I'm sure you'd have no issue filling the building. Especially 8-9 months from now.

I suspect he means "big day" as in that's the day the announcement will finally be made. But if he has some inside info and is hinting at it being a big day for the Sea Dogs that would be great too!
