Forbes is a surprise, he looked good in intersquad and preseason. The rest is not surprising. Remaining: Goalies(4) Filion(17) Sheehan(18) Couture(19) Diamttia(18) Defense(12) Desgroseillers(20) Hamel(19) Olson(19) Pilotte(18) Darcy(18) Desrosiers(18) Matulu(18) Iasenza(17) Dollemont(17) Santilli(17) Morin(16) Richards(16) Forwards(22) Bernier(20) Daoust(20) Stewart(20) Richard(19) Langlois(19) Labelle(19) Blagden(19) Barbashev(18) Cloutier(18) Daniel(18) Bucaro(18) Pavan(18) Sanchez(18) Loshing(17) Auger(17) Casey(17) Mueller(17) Sarrasin(16) Baillageron(16) Lounsbury(16) Mercier(16) McPhee(16) Taibel(17) to arrive in Sept

I think the other goalie is Couture.

I thought that they would have kept one of the younger goalies, but guess they wanted to only bring 4 to main camp (Fillion, Sheehan, DiMattia and Couture). No real surprises otherwise. Seems like all rookies picked from the 6th round on with the exception of Richards and Sarrasin were cut. Anyone seen Sarrasin? Kind of surprised he’s made main camp. Maybe one of the guys that slipped in the draft a bit because of not playing last year. Sarrasin was one of the better 16/17 year olds in intersquad and preseason. decent size and plays with energy. Agreed. He appears to be another good late-round find by the scouts. He’ll be suiting up with Rothesay Netherwood this season so the team will be able to keep a close eye on his development.

Forbes is a surprise, he looked good in intersquad and preseason. The rest is not surprising. I would categorize Tyler Guy as mildly surprising ... considering we traded Dominic LeBlanc for him, I figured he would push for a roster spot or at least be an affiliated player ... so a bit of a surprise to see him in the first cuts.

Here is my projected Wildcats lineup based on what I've in camp so far.
Goalies:
Filion Couture
Defense:
Pilote - Desgroseilliers Olson - Darcy Iasenza - Hamel
Extras: Morin, Dollemont
Forwards:
Loshing - Daoust - Barbashev Labelle - Taibel - Langlois Pavan - Casey - Daniel Mueller - Stewart - Auger
Extras: Cloutier, Blagden
My feeling is one of Hamel/Olson will be traded to move Morin into the top 6. Blagden is still recovering from surgery and won't be ready to go for the start of the season.
Mercier and Baillergeon will start the season in Midget AAA.
I'm hoping Luke MacPhee cracks the Amherst Ramblers lineup.
I can see all 3 guys joining the team for the 2nd half if Daoust and Langlois are traded.

I still feel they would be better served to send back all 16 year olds that didn't play in 2020. Making the jump from Bantam to the Q will be hard, especially with 3 contenders in the division, maybe 4 if Halifax takes a step. Let those guys get a half year of big minutes and getting used to systems and playing without the puck at a lower level.

He was slow last year and put up 5-6-11 totals the last 18 games after the restart. Don't see where he isn't in the top 9 based on the talent they have at camp.

Are teams in charge of scheduling their own pre-season games? Seems like Moncton is playing 10 pre-season games, SJ is playing 9 and the rest of the maritime division is scheduled for between 6-8 games.

It costs money to host a pre-season game and to travel to one. I expect each team decides how many they want to play based on financials.

Assuming the stats from the pre-season games are right, it seems like Lounsbury is dominant in face-offs. Nice skill to have.
