It would be nice to see the Avs stop spotting Dallas a 3 goal lead every game played in Dallas, last night was the third time that has happened this season.

Drouin is back skating- it was a skate laceration that happened three weeks ago.

You must have been watching another game, or went to bed after the 1st. This was a pretty even game that either could have won. Dallas dominated the 1st, Colorado dominated the second , and the third was balanced. OT, Dallas had the better chances but Colorado buried their chance. You could see Dallas legs get tired in the second. Hoping for a better result tomorrow. I have an extra ticket if someone wants it. :-)

Dallas won't want to go down 2-0 again in a series starting at home- I predict a Dallas win tonight, hoping for the Avs obviously but I'll be shocked if they go up 2-0 tonight.

2 straight post seasons Nicushkin has hurt the Avs - suspended without pay for 6 months this time.
There is a part of me that wants to see him get the help he needs obviously but there is also a part of me that sees this as incredibly selfish for doing this at what has to be the worst possible time and wants to see the team terminate his contract.

Nichushkin Has had issues his whole career and a lot of them were selfish. Nichushkin was originally a high Dallas draft pick. He didn’t like Dallas and had a public fight with Nill for Nill to trade him. Which is kinda crazy because Nill is one of the nicest guys. Nill didn’t trade him. So what did Nichushkin. He quit, went to KHL. Then came back to Dallas but still wanted to be traded. So what did he do when he came back. He actively avoided scoring. The dude played 57 games and scored ZERO goals. And when I say actively avoided he wouldn’t shoot the puck. It was so crazy, I have never seen anything like it. This though is crazy, and I hope he gets the help. But I can’t imagine Colorado trusting him again.

He won't be welcomed back in that Avs dressing room thats for sure
but they should probably not have welcomed him back after his rehab stint this year knowing what he did last year.... and they definitely never should have signed a long term deal with him
I guess there is some precedent in terminating contracts for off ice issues..... Voynov and Mike Richards come to mind

Voynov and Mike Richards come to mind The reporting I have read said that this wouldn't qualify for a terminating contract. Last year it would have because of the comatosed woman in his hotel room in Seattle would have qualified for that. But because is he failed a drug test while already in the program, it doesn't fit the termination clause. His cap stays off the books while he is suspended but he might be eligible for a return in November or December. If he does get reinstated, the Avs would be in a world of cap hurt if they can't get out of his contract. Back to this series. It's not over yet, if any team can bounce back it's Colorado and Dallas had some injury troubles. Hintz only played 1st period because of a cheap shot from Nate. Smith was banged up. If those two are out, Dallas will insert Faksa, and Dellandrea or Bourque (so they have talent to insert but a Hintz loss would be a blow). But the big concern is Tanev. If he can't go Dallas might be screwed. Hakanpaa is already injured and they miss his presence and Nils Lundkvist only plays 5mins a game.

What an unexpected night...
I became a grandfather for the first time last night- my daughter was at our place for supper and my grandson decided he didn't want to wait for his May 31st due date and my wife and I got her to the hospital and she gave birth at 12:02 am.
My wife and I got home late and I was too tired after such a wild experience- I don't think I have ever been as stressed out driving in Halifax rush hour traffic- to bother checking on hockey scores.
The Avs are still in it, courtesy of some subpar goaltending mind you, but they actually have a chance now.
Anyways my grandson, Kale Xavier, is here, he was born 7 pounds 7 ounces so I am already ordering #77 Avs and Mooseheads jerseys and looking forward to him being picked by the Mooseheads at the 2040 QMJHL draft!!!!

I'm notorious in my superstitions with Avs in the playoffs and since I didn't watch Game 5 the other night because I was anxiously awaiting word on my daughter and grandson I was debating not watching tonight.
My wife made up my mind for me - "Just watch the damn game, grandpa!"

That was an intense series.
Dallas carried over their momentum from the Vegas series and then made the changes needed to switch from high scoring to grind it out low scoring.
And wow - that no goal was a joke.
For Colorado, IMO they have to resign Drouin. He was all over the place once he was back and might have been the 3rd most effective player in those 3 games.
Drouin would continue a good linemate to Nate and allow Colorado to move Mikko on a line with the Captain (if he comes back).
Oh and Tanev’s bank account is going to be looking good. That guy is a warrior and tough as nails and just neutralized Nate. He is going to get paid.
