We definitely need a big infusion of character and heart. We need some players who are hungry to win. I agree. I think a good 1st step would be scratching a player like Francis publicly for lack of work ethic obviously just for a game or 2 but it’ll definitely cause a spark. ( can’t fix his lack of character tho from what I’ve heard )

I agree with this if there’s no takers then scratch him. I’d personally sell him Cheap to the islanders they need a top 6 forward. Man, you two have a serious hate on for Burns. Currently third on the team in scoring, fairly consistent for 4 years. Would love to see your assessment of the rest of the team. It seems if I could find a fault with this team it would be, as others have posted, they seem to struggle some nights to play as a team. Coaches and players all play a roll in coming together. They need a few of the top guys to step up and bring them together as a group. We all know it doesn't matter what they look like on paper for skill, if there is no team work it fails. I really think they only need a few pieces to the puzzle and our veterans to up their game, show some more grit and heart, with some more physical and consistent play. It is up to the coaching staff to light a spark under their *ss. Let's hope they don't simply ride their way into the Mem Cup and get embarrassed. I am sure there are players out there who would love to be on this team because of a guaranteed opportunity to play in the tournament. Let's hope they find the right pieces to the puzzle for skill and personality. Empty the cupboards if they have to as hosts! For my next rant on another day: Harbour Station, not much has changed since they opened! In my opinion they have a lot of work to do on their end to make the game day tournament experience a success and enjoyable for the hometown crowd and the many visitors from around the country. he’s the only player I don’t see as a positive. Reminds me of Alexander Semin all the talent in the world but no effort except burns is also 5 foot 6 120 pounds and skates like he has cement blocks on his feet.

This must be the most disappointing group they have iced. Feel bad for the organization. Finally they get the Memorial Cup organization and the team falls flat like this. Must hurt ticket sales badly. Feel bad for the organization? ? You should feel bad for the kids. TG picked these guys in the same draft, and called them the cornerstones of the rebuild, and then let Poirier, Villeneuve and Desroches go three years without a real coach on defense. They needed good coaches right then and there to produce future success. Instead the organization took the cheap route. The organization is getting exactly what it deserves. The players, for the most part, deserved better. The fans who stood by the team to get to this point definitely deserved better from the organization. I agree with pretty much everything except I'm not sure they necessarily took the cheap route so much as they took the dumb route. They had a proven forward coach in Cowan coaching the D in year 1 of the rebuild. So after the season is over, what did they decide to do? They inexplicably went out and hired another forward coach and kept Cowan as the D coach. I don't really have a strong opinion one way or the other on Legein. I'm sure he didn't cost a fortune. But if they had hired a D coach of the same quality/cost as Legein instead, they'd in much better shape.
