Its disappointing but I have no issue with them taking a guy like Cornforth in the 6th round. It seems to me he genuinely did have interest in playing here. This team has shown they can get some gems in the later rounds (Daniel, Auger, Darcy etc) and that allows them to take some risks. I only take issue with using earlier picks like Hopkins, Rozzi etc. Anything in the first few rounds should be a sure bet to report. Oh ya for sure. I’m disappointed in him not showing up, not in the Cats drafting him. Worth a shot in the 6th. He’s gotten some Garland comparisons and he also didn’t report at first either so let’s hope he follows his footsteps.

Did notice Rozzi wasn’t on waterloos pre season roster, now I don’t know if it’s common for returnees to not be on it or what tho

Wildcats decided not to renew the contract of Tim Roszell.
Marty Kingston returns.

Wonder if we should be concerned about our goaltending heading into the season ... tough to know how much stock to put into pre-season, but Filion seems to have struggled so far, Steinman's numbers are a bit better but still below average ... and neither has a track record of success at this level to fall back on. Is Filion destined to be the next highly drafted goaltender that the Cats lose patience with and move on from when he struggles as a young goalie? Team is looking solid otherwise ...

He is 18 and in his 3rd year in the Q, half his starts should no longer be an adventure. Time to get his a$$ in gear.

Worded more harshly than I would have, but don't completely disagree with the sentiment. Needs to show more consistency between now and Xmas, otherwise I would not be surprised to see the Cats look to add a 19 or 20 year old starter mid-season. Hopefully in three months time he has established himself as a number one that can do the job for the three seasons ... but if he hasn't, past history would suggest that the team may grow impatient and move on rather than keep waiting.

He commuted from Saint John all the time so might be something to do with wanting a local guy and not having to fork over for a hotel/gas/meals for home games.

Since the Wildcats love recycling PBP guys, I wonder what bababooey is up to these days.

Barbashev made the main NYR camp, so wont be around this weekend.
On a side note, pretty neat that they got Lance Luce to play the organ for the home opener. I saw last year that they had gotten it installed, no idea what their plan is for it the other games. Cant be that many organ players in town.

Neka Jean selected 133rd overall. He is the son of Frantz Bergevin-Jean. Interesting development regarding Neka Jean. He's now listed on the Moncton Flyers roster. He started the school year at Shattuck's St. Mary's in Minnesota.
