Cormier seems off to me still. Guay seems to be snake bitten. I feel like most of the shots are right at goalie. Can't buy a dang goal for the life of them. Annnnd they both score after I posted this

A lot better 3rd and OT that’s the way they need to play. Hungry and pucks on net

just to pick how ya likin Stairs now Score? he's not a difference maker..... just like i said Pick away...... I don't recall calling him a "difference maker". Cormier, Simoneau, Brabenec, Guay and Lepenna are "difference makers" ....I said he would be a good fit possibly on the 2nd line....and also on the 2nd pp.....a good SECONDARY point producer. He has been hustling out there, back checking hard and putting in a solid effort...... which was always a "knock" on the kid......i watch every game and I can't complain too much of his play. He has been asked to play higher into the lineup then what he was brought here for.....as did half of our team... He has 15pts in 25gp with the Isles......and on pace to make this his best season, point wise, in his QMJHL career.. He only has 2pim since joining the team and has a +/- of +11. As of a lot of teams are, this team has had such terrible luck with injuries.....so players, like Stairs, have had to play where they aren't really supposed to with added responsibilities. Like I said, he's working hard out there.....i feel that now with Roy back.....and Simoneau back, not that hes 100% healthy, because he's not...and with Brabenec back and playing healthy and looking great out there for an 18yr Euro in his first campaignin in N.A........I'm not disappointed with the play of Stairs at all......especially with the added pressure and playing more minutes and with more responsibilities then Hulton brought him in for. Still missing LeBlanc and Boyd......this team has had a different lineup and mixed lines now for a very long time. The team needs time to adjust/gel with the injured players returning and getting comfortable playing in the roles that they're meant to be playing. I get it. You don't like his play. That's fine......I do. I like what Bowness brings each game...a lot...and you don't. So what? Also, I'm not a fan of Todd....at all..

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate his hustle, but he's more suited to a 3rd line role.
As disappointed as I am in Stairs, I'm as disappointed in Roy....1 goal and 8 points in 12 games. Not good enough when you consider he plays with Budgell and Simoneau. Hopefully he'll pick it up now that Simoneau is back.
We will disagree here. I've been hoping they landed Stairs for a couple years now. Being on this team, this season, he can play without the pressure of being the "go to guy". He will help their already potent PP.....and strengthen their 2nd line. I really believe that we will see him put up really big numbers the remainder of this season.I believe that Hulton has been eyeing Stairs the past couple seasons...so I believe he thinks it will work out here. We'll see how it goes.....but I personally am very happy with this acquisition . Put up a huge 2nd half.....and trade him for assets next season.

I never said a thing about what Bowness brings to the team lol..... my only comment on him was i expected he would be returned to the lower levels when we loaded up and i would have been fine with that the stuff on Staoirs tho..... bunch of crap dressed up like a salad he's the same player he's always been he's on our team now so i have no choice but to hope he does something but i also hope he isn't here as a 20 on a rebuild next year because he is simply not good enough to be a leader great to get Simoneau back.... totally agree there..... Stairs belongs on the 4th line if i'm being honest he and Leblanc together could be dangerous down there lol

You’d have to think Stairs will find a home on the 4th line whenever Boyd returns.

No doubt, both Roy and Stairs should be producing more than they have, given their age and experience in the league. Roy has had the injury he's dealt with, so hopefully he gets on track soon.
One thing that I notice about our play in March... I feel that we've struggled to score compared to earlier in the season. I did a quick run through of some things. We scored 49 goals in the month of March and 27 of them were at 5X5 play (55%). March was a busy month with 14 games. In February, we scored 43 goals, of which 29 were scored at 5X5....67%. In February we only played 8 games.
So, in February vs. March.... we scored less in March and we were relying more on our PP play to produce offense. It's great to have a good power play.... but the majority of the game is played at 5X5 and you want to be able to score in that situation.... especially in the playoffs.
We have a couple of games vs. Cape Breton on the weekend. To me, this is a great opportunity to get some guys going who are squeezing the stick too hard.... a couple of big thumpings against the Eagles might be just what the doctor ordered to get guys feeling comfortable again.
