It should also be pointed out that the playoff schedule has been completely botched. The league decided to play 68 games and we are seeing the consequences of that. My guess would be that if it was voted on, far more teams preferred to play the full 68 so they don't need to credit season ticket holders, as I'm sure the 5-6 strong teams would have been fine with 60 games, best of 7s and guaranteed weekend home dates when having home ice advantage.
Charlottetown playing a playoff game on a Monday night when having home ice advantage is just terrible. For round 3 I don't think you could have drafted up a worse schedule if you tried. They somehow managed to avoid having a Friday or a Saturday game despite being pretty well caught up to the WHL/OHL schedule. The only thing I'm glad for is this didnt happen when the Wildcats were contenders, because I dont think I could take one more piece of bad luck when it comes to playoff games at Avenir Centre (1 Friday Night home playoff game, Arena opened September 2018).
The schedule is amplifying the issue, although you could still make an argument that theres no excuse for SJ only barely getting over 2000 fans with the team they have, hosting memorial cup, regardless of what night it is.

You're right that the decision to do it this way with best of 5's and an unconventional schedule ended up hurting the good teams. Big difference in a Monday/Tuesday game vs say Friday/Saturday in terms of peoples schedules. If these teams just proceed as usual without recognizing all this and seeing poor round 3 crowds and 2000 people in big markets and Quebec having Roy ask people to show up and still don't do anything...they deserve whats coming to them. With $2/L gas and oil meaning insanely higher costs to drive and heat homes and grocery prices meaning things like eating out/getting coffee and other staples are being cut out...where do they think Jr Hockey is going to sit in people priorities? I read a stat recently saying the average deficit of a young person in Halifax is $1200 per month. $750 being the Canadian average. So if our young people are priced out...and our older people are paying higher interest rates on their mortgage and all the above factors....who is left? Are signs indicate disaster coming quickly if these teams still continue to act like its 2005 and there's any kind of novelty on this product.

I agree with this! I kept saying since the turn of the year to anyone that would listen. Enjoy watching this team play, because it's not going to last! And by December next year with a rebuilding team, I'll watch all the complainers on Facebook saying how they won't waste money to watch the team lose etc.

The issue isn't those people...its letting their opinion dominate the narrative. Nobody goes to social media to say how awesome everything is. They troll and harp on the negative in 95% of the interactions I see. Politics and sports are things that are polarizing enough without social media...if you focus too much on what complete strangers say on the internet those subjects become exhausting and you lose any enjoyment you had in following them in the first place.
