The Islanders are back on home ice for a couple of games leading into thus weekend.
Thursday night we host the Titan.

Bowness doing the usual Bowness thing which is taking dumbass penalties.
Probably a nice kid but brings nothing to the team. Can’t fight, can’t hit, can’t work the corners, doesn’t score. I don’t get it. I’d trade for Campbell any day.

To be fair, the last penalty shouldn’t have been a penalty…just barely caught Larkin, and it was on the shoulder but he sold it hard as a head shot.

Coulda went either way, but when you’re a player who takes a lot of penalties, the refs probably won’t give you the benefit of the doubt.
Generally speaking, I still stand by what I said.

I tend to agree and think Ross Campbell likely brings more upside than a lot of the bottom third forwards. Bowness, Jelley, Arsenault, Allen all seem to be struggling.

Atrocious defensive effort. Got lucky off a couple of fluky goals. Surprised we managed 45 shots... Sergei Litvinov was insane. Bathurst gave hometown boy Jack Howatt some time in net during a Titan PP... don't know what that was about... either a gear problem or a friendly gesture.
Agreed on the Bowness opinions. Wish he could do more though, he's shown some flashes, but rarely.
Preach to the Campbell opinions... I've watched a couple of Knights games and he (plus Evan Nicholson) has been terrific. He brings a ton of energy on the ice, gets in opponents' faces, and can surprise a goalie when given the chance... the latter has been his weakness in call-ups so far... puck decisions.
What concerns me is, let's say Campbell or both him and Nicholson get called up in the second half, the possibility that the Knights falter. Nothing against their other players, but losing Ross and Evan would definitely tear some identity away. They look like a really good family together.
It all kinda sucks because, yes, our depth players are struggling hard. I feel like Allen would be far better if he had more than just loads of fast energy & skating. Doesn't help that he's low in the lineup, but still.
Also, any clue on why Alexis Michaud has been lower in the lineup in recent games?
