The Victoriaville Tigres are in town tonight for a contest with the Islanders.
Victoriaville has a very good team this year and is in 3rd place overall behind Quebec and Sherbrooke. We know they were horrible last year, but if you go back one year to 20-21, remember they were the team who knocked us out in the third round to go on and beat Val-d'Or for the championship. We all have foggy memories of this because this was the year of the Atlantic Bubble season, the after Christmas NS-PEI bubble, and then the playoffs basically up in Quebec. But in short order, Victoriaville has done a great job at rebuilding.
Game time is 7:30 tonight.

Any word on who's in net tonight? I assume Lapenna would be the guy they put in.

Can’t imagine Flanagan staying with the team for much longer. Kid just needs to go down and find any sort of confidence.
As for the Tigres, looks like we may see young stud D’Aigle in nets tonight. Darveau started Wednesday night in Cape.

Interesting to add to the goalie scenario.
It got me thinking about who is our #3 on the depth chart. I suppose if we needed somebody due to injury the go to would be Niko Boudreau with the Northern Moose.
For the PEI U18 teams, we do own the rights to Rylan Aiken of Kensington, but he left camp before exhibition games so it's not likely a possibility he would suit up just to backup. The other goalie on Kensington is only 15. For the Knights, they also have a 15 y/o goalie plus Keifer Thompson, who I believe is still owned by the Wildcats.
There's been lots of goalie chatter over the past few weeks as Flanagan has struggled. Maybe there's a FA in town for a look see. To me, the biggest question would be if we were to make a change, we've got to do all we can to find a place for Flanagan to play and develop. He's a 17 y/o 6'4", 200 lb goalie with a good track record. The past few months have been basically horrendous, so he needs to get somewhere to get his game on track. But, with goalies, it's not like there are teams sitting there with an opening.
Miramichi has the Jr. A rights to the player and right now they are using to American goalies that are new to the team. The recently traded away longtime starter Kenzie MacPhail. Maybe they have interest in Flanagan at 17 with the chance he might be a long term player for them, should the major junior pathway not work out. We wait.

Heard this morning Lapenna could be on his way to Gatineau. Who knows....

Gatineau have 4 twenty year olds on their roster now but Manix Landry hasn't played since SEptember
one of those 20's is goalie Tye Austin but he hasn't played in several weeks either
so who knows is right

I think Landry is expected back soon.... but I'll admit I don't pay as much attention to the happenings with the Quebec teams.

Brutal first period boys were flat. With all the rest I figured they would be a lot sharper then they were. Couple of soft goals on Frankie but the poor guy doesn’t get to much time off.
The goalie situation is interesting in one hand why trade away Satny if the plan al along is to trade Frankie, unless they were not going to trade him however I think that would have been the plan at the trade deadline.
If we trade Frankie our season is going to go down the tube unless they get a stable goalie in return.
It will be interesting to see how this all plays outs.

Yes, wasn't a good start at all. Victo is good. 3rd overall......but the Isles showed no life out there. I never expected them to win this game......i just hope they come out strong in the 2nd and perhaps pop a goal....or two in. I just hope it's not a blowout and that they don't leave Frankie in too long if Victo goes up by a couple more.

If we trade Frankie our season is going to go down the tube unless they get a stable goalie in return. The team has overachieved so far..... IMO, they are not a team that should have a record of 11-12-2. The 2nd half will be rough. Expect that. Lepenna will be traded....and I can't see them keeping Biakabutuka either. They both SHOULD be moved to help with the rebuild. If they don't get moved, it'll be a mistake, IMO.
