so if he's out for the season is it still possible to pick up another OA? I forget how it works post deadline if there's any specific rules.

Based on the Tye Austen situation in Cha I think it might be too late. Tye was released after the deadline and it was reported that it was too late to sign on with another team |

I believe that a team has until Feb 10th to add/remove from active roster, but only until Jan 10 to add to protected list. This means that if Bednar were still protected, he could come back, but they can't get a new Uberti. It also means that hypothetically they could bring in Brants. |
