The Islanders look to go for 3 in a row this afternoon against Bathurst.
We are on a nice little roll….be great to keep it going!

Keifer Lyons has been held pointless through 5 games with us. In addition, when you look at his 17 y/o season with CB last year...38-1-0-1... that's not the look of someone with some offensive upside.
But as has been pointed out.... in the first half of the season in Jr. A with Campbellton this year he was 16-18-16-34. That is producing at a similar clip to Dawson Stairs, who is two years older and who know can supply some offensive play at the major junior level.
Last night, I thought Lyons looked to be right on the cusp of a break through. He was playing with Gallant and Campbell.... they turned over pucks in the offensive zone and created a number of chances at the Sags goal. Hopefully we see a quick breakout from Lyons here soon... maybe today?
Last night, Michaud and Hughes were out and Lyons had this opportunity. Hughes should return today. I'm not sure on the status of Michaud. Opportunity is there for Lyons to start getting some traction to his offensive game!

Absolutely brutal power play today It's something else.... The game in general is a bore. Both teams are not sharp today at all. Very sloppy.

Game started off with a bang a couple minutes in with a solid tilt. But after that not so much, the n fairness the Isles did play last night. Samenas has been out head hunting the whole game after he nailed Topilnyckyj I was glad to see him get the boot.
As much as the power play sucked the Isles are still playing not to bad. Hopefully they can pull out the W

With the power play chances I feel like there should have at least been 2 more goals for the Islanders. Puck possession seems to be a definite weak spot.
Regardless, came out with a win. 3 in a row is not bad for this team

Full two minute five on three and created zero chances
Full five minute major and had one scoring chance
Brutal
But yes 3 wins in a row is nice to see

I thought Lyons-Gallant-Campbell were possibly the best line yesterday......if not, a very close 2nd.

Looked great, I agree. As mentioned yesterday....Lyons snakebit offensively, and that's not a good thing for a guy getting an audition as a FA pickup. He had one glorious chance yesterday but could not cash. If he continues to play well, the points should come.... have to take advantage of every available opportunity. It would be great to see him develop into a big bodied forward to use into next season. I thought Lyons-Gallant-Campbell were possibly the best line yesterday......if not, a very close 2nd.
