You guys have a gross schedule coming up. Gatineau/Victoriaville/Quebec, then a weekend against rebuilding teams, then Sherbrooke/Halifax/Halifax. If anything playing against teams you can't make mistakes against might snap you out of your slump. Your schedule gets a lot easier after that. Getting a couple points against contenders in the next couple weeks might make the difference between 4th and 5th in the conference.

Hamel is suspended for his aggressor penalty, too bad for him since he would likely have family at the game. I'd imagine they'll get a decent amount of support still with Labelle, Marcil being from the area, along with other players hometowns being within a few hours.
If they play the way they played over the weekend this should be an easy 7-8 goal win for Gatineau and I dont see why anything would change, other than that they have played better against good teams.

Well we held in there with one of the best teams in the league. Late goals are absolutely sinking this team. Another one with 15 seconds left in the period

How do we fix it well maybe next year Nothing to fix if you're going by last night. I mentioned you could snap out of a slump even if you lost, and the way Moncton played last night you might have done that. If they play like that against any of the other 17 teams in the league they probably beat 13 of them. Could sneak a win out of Victoriaville.

The problem is they aren't playing that way against other teams. Losses to SJ, CB, a collapse against CHA and a pitiful effort against a tired Sags team at the end of their road trip. There's really no excuse for them not to be up for those games, they have a lot on the line with a chance for 3rd place in the conference.

Yah you really won't be able to gauge it from this road trip. Next Wednesday's game in Saint John should be a good test. The Sea Dogs are playing well and it will be up to the Wildcats to have the same level of compete in that game as they do for their next games against the Tigres and Remparts. The Mooseheads did the same thing last year. Played well against the good teams but would throw up a stinker against rebuilding teams.

I don't think anyone is overly surprised that they lost a 1 goal game to a contender yesterday. It's been their MO in the new year. When they are underdogs this year they are 1-3 but all 3 losses were 1 goal games after 59 minutes. That's the frustrating part, they are clearly a decent team when they want to be.
Jan 7th vs. Rimouski – Underdog – 5-1 Win
Jan 8th vs. Charlottetown – Heavy favorite – 4-1 win
Jan 11th vs. Quebec – Heavy underdog – 4-2 loss(empty netter, missed open net to tie the game)
Jan 15th vs. Halifax – Heavy underdog – 6-4 loss(Empty netter)
Jan 18th vs. Charlottetown – Heavy favorite – 5-3 Loss
Jan 20th vs. Cape Breton – Heavy Favorite – 5-3 win
Jan 22nd vs Chicoutimi – Heavy favorite – 5-2 Loss
Jan 28th vs. Saint John – VERY heavy favorite – 7-3 Loss
Jan 29th vs. Cape Breton – Heavy favorite – 6-4 Loss

The projection at the window was that Moncton should be the 3rd best team in the conference after Rimouski traded Brunet. Also, SJ isn't significantly worse than Charlottetown and Cape Breton.
