Before the game tonight they announced scout Al Cusson passed away what happened he was still a young man was he not? Also he was our head scout or am I wrong on that?

I thought Birt was our head scout.....but Al has been with this franchise since the Rocket days, I believe.

His son played briefly with the Islanders.....4 games.

That is sad news. Alan Cusson has been a long timer with the organization for many years. Most recently he was the scout in Quebec. In recent years, he's been a big part of the success with some of the later guys we've had good luck with from Quebec.

He did post on here a little bit and I was lucky enough to get a few DMs from him over the years with some interesting Islanders tidbits.

He was a big proponent of Zac Beauregard and had an eye on Michael Horth as a dark horse candidate to emerge. In addition, I think he was part of the team that identified William Trudeau as a guy to go after from Drummondville in the Joseph trade.
