The Islanders face another important test tonight when they hit the road and head up to Bathurst. The general consensus is that we sort of laid an egg on Sunday....the performance over in Cape Breton looked more like a month ago and less like the previous few games vs. strong teams.
Anyway, that's how it happens with young teams and/or teams that are at the bottom of the standings. We currently sit with 38 points which gives us the last playoff spot in the Eastern conference. Bathurst is one point behind us with 37 points (but we do have a game in hand.... which becomes really important if we lose tonight!).
We're also 2 points back of Cape Breton (who are up in Drummondville tonight). Watching the bottom teams in the Western Conference, Val-d'Or sits at 40 points (having played 2 extra games) and Drummondville has 43 points (with an equal number of games).
Every point is critical!

Hopefully we get the win. It's a tight battle for second in the division and coincidently that last playoff spot.
