Cats have been on a real downer lately. Their middle of the pack core has the potential to make playoffs and dare I say it, even get maybe a round but I’m hearing the players need a new voice. The one they are hearing now is clearly not working and nothing is resinating. Hoping to see a change here soon. Something needs to happen before it’s too late.

Discipline continues to be an issue. We take way too many penalties and have all season. Hamel took 3 in the 1st period alone

Getting embarrassed on the road is one thing but getting embarrassed on home ice in front of our fans is just the worst. Especially since we aren't tanking and are supposed to be a competitive team

Im not sure what game you are watching, but the issues on this team are far bigger than Filions play. When was the last game you watched that the team looked like they even cared if they won? |

To me this past weekend shows just how far away they are from really contending with this core. Even take the 11-3 blowout out of the equation they didn't play particularly poor against Sherbrooke, but they just can't handle the size, the speed, the forecheck, and the strength of a team like that. Outmatched in every way. They've proven at times they can hang with any team, but 'at times' is not good enough in a potential championship season down the road.
There are too many guys IMO showing up for only a few shifts per game and that's it with not much accountability that I can see. Terrible penalties, no back checking, a WHOLE LOT of puck watching.

The highest drafted player on the roster is Filion and they paid a huge price for him, so far he is a bust. |

I'm not suggesting it's the only problem, but the WC have a mid pack roster. The highest drafted player on the roster is Filion and they paid a huge price for him, so far he is a bust. I think Fillion will come into his own at 19/20 and be one of the top goaltenders, but who knows... but you're correct, so far his numbers are quite abysmal... |

Youd hope that, but at this point his numbers have gotten worse each season hes played. Perhaps with the right goalie coach he can improve, but his positioning is not very good, so I dont see how that changes much at 19 or 20. My point was basically that Filion hasnt played much in the 2nd half, so focusing the conversation around him is mostly pointless. Yeah he seems to be a bust but for the future of the team it doesn't really matter where he was drafted or what they traded for him, hes not the best goalie on the team, and the teams play right now is incredibly uninspiring no matter what goalie they have in. The coach can't get them to play well vs bad teams, and there's no leaders like a Hudson or a Pelletier to bring the team together at all. I thought perhaps Hamel would be that guy this season, but hes too busy taking bad penalties in crucial moments. Daniel doesn't really do much of anything to try and change what's going on the ice. He's fine as a 3rd liner when he puts up a few points but hes not like a Christian Gaudet type guy whos gonna work his ass off and inspire the team and you hardly see him talking to anyone. He takes dumb penalties just like Hamel. At this point whatever changes happen will have to wait for the off season it looks like. To me the issue has to be having the wrong mix of players/leaders combined with a coach who can't seem to make any adjustments when things arent going well. I don't expect them to beat Halifax or Sherbrooke, but theres really no excuse they arent in 3rd or at least 4th in the conference. |

He has shown no progression in 2 years, no indication he will be anything more than a back up. |

Getting dominated at home on the weekend and then coming out and losing to the worst team in the league is an embarrassment
