With the Canada Games kicking off this weekend the Islanders will play a three game road set this weekend.
We will kick things off tonight in Moncton with a contest vs. the Wildcats.
How do things look in the standings?
We are 4 points clear of Saint John and 6 points clear of Bathurst. Currently these are the teams outside the playoffs. We have an equal number of games played at SJ and Bathurst has played one more.
We are tied with CB for the final two playoff spots in the East....but we do have a game in hand on CB after their loss last night. Baie-Comeau sits 5 points ahead of us but we do have 3 games in hand on them.
For overall standings, over in the other division Val-d'Or also has 44 points and has played 2 additional games. Ahead of them Drummondville and Blainville each have 47 points (we are equal in games with Drum, Blb has played 2 extra).
Every point matters!
Game time is 7:00.

Looks like Arseneault, Gallant, Todd and Tessier are out "injured or sick."
Todd I am not surprised after that knee injury. Tessier has been gone for a number of games now, not sure he's even been with the team. Gallant is a new one, we will definitely miss him on the ice.

Disappointing result.... but missing the captain and the head coach.... that has to factor in somewhat.
With all the injuries, I'm disappointed they didn't take advantage of the opportunity to bring in a youngster to get some game action. Why only play with 17 skaters and not grab someone to fill the last spot. The Knights were not playing yesterday so they easily could have taken Evan Nicholson over to get into some game action.
Maybe Keiran's injury was something last minute in the warmup and they just didn't get a chance to take action.

Can't believe Hulton got suspended due to the Refs inability to make a decent call on the ice.
