players remaining in camp:
Forwards: 18
Dylan Andrews Donovan Arseneault Louis-Francois Belanger Phillipe Collette Ethan Dickson Nolan Forster Samuel Frechette Dominik Godin Joseph Henneberry Colby Huggan Alexandre Lallier Matthew McRae Robert Orr Ty Peddigrew Blake Pilgrim-Edwards Milo Roelens Noah Ryan Dawson Sharkey
Defence: 8
William Bishop Harry Clements Zachary Deleau Ty higgins Noah Laberge Drew Maddigan Emile Perron Zachary Robichaud
goalie: 4
George Gallant Joshua Fleming Mathis Lacroix-Goulet Antoine Keller
team is getting close to finalized. I'd say our D core is locked in barring they maybe cut one more or make a trade.
goalies will definitely be Keller + Fleming.
The real battle is the forwards, I was a little surprised to see Leard cut but some of the other guys played better than him. I still don't think Forster is a good enough OA to make this team.

with Pekarcik not reporting, does this team look elsewhere for another EU player? I'd have to think yes, but I'm not sure which teams have extras at the moment.

How have Sharkey and Pitman looked in camp/preseason? What are their chances of sticking? Sharkey had an ok game the other night, scored a goal, I don't think he makes the team in the end though. Pitman didn't show much and ended up cut. Pitman has some skill but needs to add physical strength; I saw him play in Jr A last season. He'll play junior A (Yarmouth) this season (barring something unforeseen); he can bulk up.

I didn't realize how dominant Sharkey was last year either, he scored like crazy. He has 2 goals in 2 games so far in the pre-season so maybe he's a sleeper to make the team after all, just not sure who we pick him over.

if I had to ultimately guess, I'd say the final 4 forwards cut will be: Nolan Forster Samuel Frechette Ty Peddigrew (has been good but I think he might be better suited sent down another year to develop) Matthew McRae (hasn't really took another step sadly)
there's also a rumor Roelens doesn't want to play for us, so I'm not sure if he ends up moved or not.
I can see Forster being cut and us going out and getting an OA on D to replace him, which in turn would likely see Deleau or Robichaud cut. Robichaud has been good but could also benefit from another year sent down. For a super late pick he's looked good though.
still possible we see Maddigan cut/traded as well.

Think roelens could fit in Cape Breton ? with shortall coming your way ? I wouldn't be apposed to trading Roelens for Shortall but I think we'd have to get a pick in there, a 2nd + Shortall would make sense. Roelens should be a PPG player or better this year.

Both Sharkey and Pitman won the MVP of their respective U-18 leagues last year! Pitman played some in Junior A last year and did not look out of place for a 16 year old. I did not see Sharkey play, so I can only go by numbers.

Maybe Sharkey does sneak into this lineup, it really seems like he could score goals, maybe we found a potential 15 goal scorer. Pitman should definitely make the squad next year then.

You think at 18 that a 13th round pick will definitely make the squad, in what should hopefully be an improved team? I think if Pitman didn’t make it at 17, he’s going to be in tough to do it at 18. Now that’s not to say he can’t but I wouldn’t put it in the “definitely should” category either.

I just mean a Q team in general (should've specified like I did previously my bad), if he doesn't crack our lineup next season, he could very well be a call up at Christmas as well if we sell some guys. you're right, "definitely should" is a stretch. This team is already log jammed at forward as is, and they will hope to add to that in the next draft.

A couple of trades by the Titan today.
They officially acquire Colby Huggan from BLB for an 8th round pick, and Lacroix-Goulet has been traded to Baie-Comeau for a 6th round pick.

Would make sense for both Sharkey and Huggan to make the team given the trades. So who's the odd ones out at forward??
I hope Lacroix-Goulet can go to BC and play the backup roll. Getting a 6th for him was decent.
