The 19th season for the Sea Dogs starts tonight with a road trip to Bathurst and then game 2 is the home opener in Saint John.
New Captain Peter Reynolds leads the Dogs with Noah Reinhart and Mathis Gauthier as alternate captains.
With 8 rookies on the roster and multiple new faces on the team it should be an interesting season.
Looking for competitive hockey from this team.
Go Sea Dogs Go!!

That's an interesting one! Especially since Bret owns (owned?) a CHL team himself!

Beveridge is going to be quite the player for you guys. He throws the body and has lots of energy for a smaller guy and he was the best player out there tonight besides Mateiko.

Positives:
The entire top 9 created a ton of pressure. The top 4 was solid Amyot looked spectacular at times Elie played well at both ends
Negatives Face-offs (at least some of that was Roelens who could be the draw man in the league this year) Dassylva and MacLean panicking with the puck in their own end (this should get better with ice time)
All in all, it was a well-played game with at least glimpses of positives from everyone.
I'm hoping that Pierre-Noel draws in tonight.

This SJ team is definitely looking good defensively and was able to capitalize offensively on the Titan's mistakes which lead to a lot of odd-man rushes.

They kept playing dump and chase which seems like an odd choice on a 5 on 3. Pretty sure they even iced it at one point.

The defence was atrocious tonight. Leaver definitely earned I’m the #1 star tonight!
Vince Elie has a sweet shot, hope he uses it more!
All in all, a good start to the season.

For the low low price of $29.75, you too can watch a ref invent his own rule book at 6:06 of the 3rd of a 2-2 game.

We were receiving a charging minor penalty, and the Moose retaliated with a high stick match penalty..typically you’d see 4 on 4 for two minutes then a PP for the remaining time, but this time they went with a 3 min PP on the clock right away

Calder throws a bad hit, Roelens chases him down and starts punching him in the head. 2 and 5 for Calder (who didn't want to fight) and 2 and 2 for Roelens who was basically glove on fighting an unwilling combatant then Bishop jumps Beveridge, tackles him to the ice and punches him while he's down and they both get 10s. Lallier starts punching Reinhart later and gets a rough and a fight for blatantly instigating a fight.
