5pts in 25gp for Josh Anderson who has three years left after this one at a $5.5 million AAV. Something has to give.... David Clarkson 2.0 at this point....good thing Montreal isn't really in a cap struggling situation but not sure if that contracts movable anyways. :/

With the abundance of skilled young dman, what are the chances that a Savard or Matheson gets moved at the deadline?
Barron Guhle Xhekaj Struble Harris ? ?
And coming soon is Lindström, Norlinder, Hutson, Mailloux, Reinbacher, Trudeau etc, etc..

I’d probably lean towards keeping Matheson as he insulates the youth a bit and could be with them and be part of them moving out of the rebuild phase. That said if he could be part of adding a high end centre prospect it would be tempting. Yes to Savard. But yes they probably need to free up a spot or two for the young D and also turn a couple D prospects into upfront talent… they really don’t need picks. For me the biggest addition they could make over the next year is a future #1 centre.

No need to rush young D, and it's preferable not to have too many of them in the NHL at once, a guy like Savard is invaluable with a cup ring and eating tough minutes. Same for Matheson. Harris Xhekaj Guhle and Barron have all had rough patches this season, I'm sure Struble will also down the road.

I agree there's no panic, some guys will work out and some won't so by no means should they feel the need to rush and try and identify the top 6-7-8 they want in order to cash in on the others. That said the Prospect list and youth looks significantly better off for the D when compared to the forward charts and it would be helpful to even that out a bit.

He really hasn't been able to stay healthy for a Long Stretch since he got to Montreal .

Habs center prospect, Owen Beck, seems to have been traded to the Memorial Cup Host, Saginaw Spirit.
