More weekend fun!
Hopefully we have lots of momentum coming out of last night's big win. The Wildcats are in town tonight for a Saturday night contest.
We'll continue to be short a few bodies....Romeo should return to the lineup, but I expect both Michaud and Topilnyckyj will be out for a bit following injuries sustained last night.
Game time is 7:00 PM.

Moncton coming off a brutal 11 - 1 loss on Thursday. They will be looking to bounce back. Going to be a tough game for the injury ridden Islanders but if they play like they did last night they should at least be competitive.
Wonder what Hughes injury is? Haven’t heard anything or even when he might be back. Hinkley wasn’t even at the rink last night so that’s not good probably. Todd is out of the boot he was in last home game, probably making good progress. Bowness is a mystery, he’s around and doesn’t have an obvious visual injury. Michaud was on crutches, probably will have a brace tonight. Topilnyckyj looked pretty rough when I saw him, couldn’t tell exactly what was wrong but he just overall looked unwell

Todd is back and skating and is supposed to be close to a return.
I think Hinkley and Bowness are both dealing with concussions.

Going with 5 D tonight. Surprising we couldn’t get anyone to help out on D.
Romeo returns on the 4th line, Rutledge stays up making his way up to the 1st line.

I think Jacques is basically the only close by blueline option.
But, it is a challenge to get him here from northern NB.
He plays tonight and tomorrow. Historically, they don’t seem to like to call someone up for a single game when it means they are missing play with the regular team…IMO.

But could have tried Landon Ryan or Kenzie Wagner, both of whom they could get here with 3-4 hours notice.
I dislike going with fewer than 18 bodies. Give someone a chance to get a look in the league.

Still don't like Maruna on this 3rd line.
He's 3rd in team scoring with 8pts in 9gp....he's a big body...and still just 17yrs

He is capitalizing on his 2-3 chances a game which is great, but I can't see him replacing horth or Cole on that side of the wing. I guess Jim or even Maruna don't feel comfortable on his off wing

It was “personal reasons” when he didn’t travel to Quebec. Then it was “week to week” on the Isles in 60 from this past week. Regardless, it’s great he was back at the rink. The commitment required to play this hockey is immense and of course these kids have ups and downs. I really hope we see Simon back in the lineup really soon. Everybody on this team has an important role to fill. He will make a valuable contribution upon his return. He's not injured. He away for personal reasons.
