Who from this list is more likely to move I honestly think most of our moves will be from the defensive position.
Mann
Tivey
Bilodeau
Gauthier
Up front I can see Reynolds I would be surprise to see other important moves.

Mateiko could be available as one of the top non-OA Reinhart and Simek are less likely to be available |

I dont believe we will be to active.
Mann we overpaid unless he comes back next year I cant see teams paying what we paid.
Tivey probably gone a 3rd and a 5th would be a good return
Bilodeau only 18 he will be back next year.
Simek and Mateiko unless a team overpays I think they stay until the draft.
Reynolds if he wants to go he will up to him a return at least a 1st.

I wouldn't be against trading one of our 1sts next year for a 17 yr old prospect as I think our next contending year is 25-26 we pick two high end players this draft to go along with our 16 yr olds from this year and draft two 17 yr old euros thus summer and you have a good core too work with.

I posted a fictional trade on the moose sight that involved Kilfoil.
Their posters think that he only would go to the Mooseheads I find that hard to believe since he is from Saint John area.
Any inside info?

Any inside info? I didn't realize Kilfoil was so highly touted and that he was from the SJ area when I mentioned him last night. I just knew he was a rookie and I liked what I saw from him these past 3 games. The problem is he likely he has a no-trade clause. He probably wouldn't waive it mid-season to leave a contender for rebuilding team. However he probably would waive it at the draft to leave a team that's about to begin a rebuild, to goto his hometown team that's a few seasons further along and a team whose cycle is a better fit for his age. I'd rather he get that playoff contending experience and join next year anyway, than to join mid-season and come here disappointed that he got traded from a contender. |

FWIW, Kilfoil would have reported to the Sea Dogs if they had drafted him. They were hopeful he would have been there with their second pick of the second round.

Any inside info? Just saw your proposed trade. A few things. Ponzetto can't be traded. He's a first year import. However, it's reasonable that he could end up here via waivers if we were to trade an import to Halifax. I believe that's what happened with Sapelnikov when we acquired Ansons from Baie Comeau a couple years ago. Based on comments from Moosehead fans, he has little to no trade value anyway. I'm pretty sure they'd prefer Mateiko over Simek, which is fair enough if that's what it took to get the deal done. I'd like to know if we have been scouting for imports and have anyone lined up. That would make a big difference as to whether or not we trade an import this season or wait until next. We should have a reasonably high pick. The 2025 1st seems like a bit much (even before upgrading from Simek to Mateiko). Remember who are looking to buy this season and who are looking to sell. Reynolds and Mateiko could likely each pull a 1st round pick from other teams. So that would be the equivalent to paying 3 1st round picks. Aside from 1st overall picks that refuse to report to the team that drafted them, when is the last time anyone paid that much for a rookie? |
