it's easy to understand ! The veterans don't respect Dwyer and don't play as a team. Me me and me. Veterans are definitely not role models. OR maybe the team overachieved when they went 4-0-1 and this road trip was a more realistic result... that's possible, but this team has shown multiple times it can compete most nights and we have the offense to do so. But the 3 game road trip we should be able to beat teams like Quebec and Chicoutimi. Chicoutimi is doing better than us yes, but they're still a young and inexperienced team. However Jean is a great coach. This team still should be doing better on paper then expected. A lot of guys are regressing instead of improving.

Dwyer is one of the most overrated coaches in the Q not surprising players don’t respect him it just seems like he's not changing much of anything. The powerplay has been abysmal as of late, same type of plays with too many passes not enough shots. The penalty kill has also been rough. Just seems like some nights this team is just spinning it's wheels.

So.. if he's not the man of the situation.. or was not... it looks that the organization was obligated to take the less worst one ? he's style of coaching is not for the 2023 hockey.

Looking at it overall though, last year was a failure and our 2 biggest trade chips didn't bring back as much as expected because Dwyer waited too long. This year he ices the oldest team in the league and we're still a bottom 8 squad...with multiple guys taking steps back this year. Dwyer needs to come out of this trade period with some good deals as this team is currently in no mans land in terms of what year(s) they aim to compete. Though I do have to ease off a bit because technically Dwyer had to come in and fix Couturier's mess after going all-in in 2021-2022, which was no easy feat considering how many teams were owed picks from us or futures. I think stockpiling picks for the 2024 and 2025 draft is ideal considering we have Sherbrooke's for this year and both ours and Gatineau's next year. Henneberry and/or Arseneault could potentially land a 1st + so I think we have to move whoever of value. It'll be interesting to see how Dwyer makes out this year compared to last.

There was a rumor on the French board that Dwyer blew up a Kidney deal at the draft that would have gotten Bathurst more than they eventually got.

It cant be easy at the draft, if you take a somewhat good deal people will argue you could have got more but if you hold on you could miss the boat. Dam if you do and dam if you dont.

Kidney was already gone by the time Dwyer's first draft with Bathurst came around

I'm not a fan of him as a coach.

Couturier negotiated it before he left and then Clarke decided not to go through with it or something

I'm not a fan of him as a coach. he hasn't done terrible but it's still early and this trade period will really be able to see how good he does. It's a good think both Roelens and Arseneault turned out great so far this season cause they were both apart of the Kidney/Melanson deals.
